Kilkenny Vs Limerick

Should be a great match. Didn't learn much about Limerick in the Limerick vs Carlow match but KK have just been through two tough battles and showed tremendous heart in both. Limerick have a lot of skill but I don't think they can match the heart and tenacity of KK. Kilkenny by 5 points in my humble opinion.

Should be a great game...if Kilkenny win, it will be said the two tough games stood to them if they loose it will be said three weekends in a row caught up with them...Limerick by 3 for me

I think Limerick have a very good shot at this. They're a fresh young team with hunger and a lot of talented hurlers.
I think they'll need a big score to win it, so they'll have to avoid being as wasteful as they have been in some games.
Should be another cracker.

Before the Clare & Wexford games a few weeks ago, I would have said Limerick with a bit to spare, but now after the hockeying by Clare and Kilkenny's improvement since , its's too close to call.

Paddy Power has both teams at evens, which sounds about right.

Arguably KK had two, goals today that wouldn't have been allowed another day. That's the nature of sport and I'm not denying their play today was terrific; but, I think that leaves the door open for limerick to be reasonably confident going in against them the next day. Lightening won't strike twice.

Limerick by 3.

I'm unsure about this game. I've been impressed by Limerick this year, they came a close third in a keenly contested Munster championship. I think there's little to chose between them, Clare and Cork,

On the one hand, you could to say it's going to be hard for Kilkenny to play three tough games in three weeks. Whereas as Limerick played there first game in three weeks yesterday, an easy run out against Carlow.

But, while Limerick will be fresh, Kilkenny will be battle hardened. This game, plus Clare v Wexford should give an indication of how Leinster compares to Munster this year. Whatever, I'm looking forward to two more games next week, in what has been so far a glorious summer of hurling.

Limerick will give any team all they can handle and the 3 weeks in a row might catch up with KK. Should be a good one.

Confirmed for Thurles at 2pm. We'll have a huge crowd from limerick at it.

Just want to see us beat them in Championship. It would be huge for our players and a monkey off our backs.

I'm slightly surprised the bokies cant seperate these two. KK have had two hard games and Limerick will fill Thurles but KK have now proven they are serious All Ireland contenders (which I didnt think they were).
It'll be close but I'd have KK as slight favs, given the impact of Hogan and Fennelly on Sunday. It'll be an intriguing contest and the winner will have great momentum going into a semi final. KK by 3 for me.

The second of the culture clashes between the more free flowing Munster Championship and physical and attritional Leinster championships will be interesting that could shape the summer.

How will these games be refereed?
Very few easy frees in Leinster and you would bet your bottom dollar that the two sendings off in the Limerick/Clare game wouldn't have happened on Sunday past.
Referees allowing the spare arm tackles (most it seems) are going to be favoured by the physically stronger Leinster teams who won't want the high scoring stuff in Munster.

Limerick came up short on several fronts against Clare, physicality being one. Against Kilkenny this cannot be the case and they need to meet fire with fire. In fact they need to be the ones setting it out. Get a big target man in and around the Cats square and test them in there.
Allow Buckley to set up attacks and maybe the first time this year the cats attack may actually put up a score to win a game. Big Walter could be a huge loss if he doesn't make it.

Limerick overthought the tactics against Clare and panicked with John Conlon . Cork didn't make the same mistake and simply played a deeper lying centre back. Limericks sideline needs to get game smart as they made a hames of that one and it was costly.

Limerick need to show whats swinging between their legs if they really are to be considered AI contenders this year or the immediate future.

Hopefully, after Sunday's game, it'll be their tails.

Hard one to call; should be a great game. If Killkenny don't improve their defence I see Limerick outscoring them. Maybe a draw; with Limerick coming out on top by a few.

If kk were coming in with a 2 week break I'd see it as a 50/50 but given what 2 very physical encounters will take out of kilkenny it's really a golden opportunity for limerick

I was really leaning towards Limerick but KK really showed me something over the last 2 weeks. They just don't quit. As a Galway fan I don't WANT to see KK again! I see KK winning this one.

Hard one for us sunday, hope we can match the intensity and workrate of the cork game, if we do we gotta chance, but Kilkenny going to give us plenty of and skill aggression and we have to match that to give ourselves a chance of winning.

Team selection going to be interesting as to whether john goes for finn over richie mc, and whether richie hogan and fennelly will start for kilkenny. Have been all over the place following them this season salthill, tullamore, cork ennis (twice) thurles (3 times) really really want to get a trip to croke park

good luck boys do us proud

I would imagine Cody will bring Fennelly and Hogan off the bench again. Fresh legs against a fresher team. I don't know the status of Walter Walsh as he left the Galway match injured.

It's very hard to call Limerick are pretty confident they can put away Kilkenny by a few and u can't blame them.
Wounded cat is a dangerous animal and I can see a big performance from Cody's men.
KK to sneak it but wouldn't be surprised if Limerick were to win.
Gonna be a great game.
