What's the odds the Ulster Council take the easy option out if this mess and expel both teams from the competition........problem solved and marker set down, may seem harsh but not outside the realms of possibilities.......

That's what a lot of folk believe is Tyrone's intent.

What is happening to Tyrone GAA!? A county that was seen as modernising the GAA, with their Club Tyrone concept, new training ground, underage structures etc. Three Senior All Ireland's in the 2000's were used as evidence of how to transform a county and we were all meant to follow their model. Now they seemingly have issues at County Board level, ex players giving an insight into how the county is run, no Senior All Ireland in 10 years, and now running to the authorties crying foul over the smallest detail. Tyrone GAA might or might not win their appeal but it appears both teams and the referee did not follow the rule; so how can Tyrone say one team got an advantage over the other!? No matter what the outcome of the appeal is, the whole country including some within Tyrone will see this appeal for what it is - very embarassing from such a great footballing county. sam1884 (UK) - Posts: 999 - 14/06/2018 11:09:11 2111424 Link 0 |
I cannot believe any Tyrone fan would want to win the game this way. Tyrone lost good luck to Armagh in the final. Byanthon (Tyrone) - Posts: 1780 - 14/06/2018 11:13:14 2111425 Link 1 |
Well said. As I said on previous threads it was a pity someone had to lose that game as it was a classic. Those young lads on both teams gave their absolute all in an enthralling game, future bodes well for both counties with that talent coming through!

Saw the footage of this row, both teams should be thrown out of the competition in my opinion. Barnowl94 (Galway) - Posts: 3150 - 14/06/2018 11:49:50 2111439 Link 0 |
Most tyrone people would not want to win this appeal. Donegalman (None) - Posts: 3830 - 14/06/2018 12:29:26 2111457 Link 2 |
Should be no appeal and no replay. Armagh won with the same rules applied to them and well done to them. Too bad about the dust up but it's not the first and sadly won't be the last between competing teams. seanie_boy (Tyrone) - Posts: 4235 - 14/06/2018 15:35:21 2111539 Link 0 |
Fair play to you, respect for your county & the GAA, nice to see it.

unfortunately that's usually what the ulster council do when they are in a predicament of their own making, how comes tyrones' management acknowledged their defeat on the night and didn't know a rule had been breached, totally embarrassing from a tyrone point of view if they go ahead with this appeal. This rule book mullarky is a legacy of m hartes obsession of running to appeals to try and overturn suspensions of players instead of accepting the punishments and saying to his own players and others that actions have consequences. Unfortunately fines issued have no affect as the management and players don't pay it but the ordinary club players and members by counties raising fees, will be very interesting to see the outcome in the morning as it looks like this one will rumble on to the drc by one or the other team

Very strange decision for Tyrone county board to pursue this - nothing good can come of it. Ulster Council should see sense and realize that this was a mistake by the officials on the night which didn't disadvantage either team. Result to stand. Then, issue all suspensions and fines. Simple as!! Brolly (Monaghan) - Posts: 4472 - 14/06/2018 17:47:10 2111586 Link 1 |
So it's Mickey Hartes fault? Who has nothing to do with the u20's. ridiculous comment.

I agree with most level headed posters on this. I personally wouldn't attend the replay if one was granted. I highly doubt it will come to that. The appeal will be throw out like it should be. Good luck to Armagh in the final. The_Fridge (Tyrone) - Posts: 2087 - 14/06/2018 17:49:26 2111588 Link 2 |
It's a pity the Tyrone county board wasn't as sporting as most of the Tyrone gaels that post on here. sean og (Armagh) - Posts: 1053 - 14/06/2018 18:38:04 2111596 Link 1 |
