Longford v Kildare

(Oldest Posts First)

Kildare will probably will be quite happy with drawing Longford. However I would be quietly confident that the Boys in Blue&Gold can come out on the right end of this one. LongfordABU.

It's a tough draw but I would fancy Longford to win this too. They're at home, have decent footballers and have a good record in the qualifiers. Won't be much of a surprise if they win.

Longford at home are a match for any team, and they do well in the qualifiers. I have a feeling that Kildare have got their act together, and will take this one.

Actually would have preferred to get a Mayo/Tyrone at home rather than Kildare. We always seem to come up short against them! I think it has the potential to be a cracker as Kildare seemed to have made progress since losing to Carlow and following on from their League form.

I would like to think that home advantage, beating MEath and gaining good experience of setting out against Dublin will stand to us and a victory follow suits.

If Kildare push up on Longford kickouts they have the talent to win by 4/5

Championship. It's what good weather is made for, hard ground, big local crowd and an extra bounce in the ball. A day for any in form forwards to relish especially with the openness of these two teams. Never back Kildare and seldom back Longford. The Longford forwards can shoot that's for sure.

Sounded like a good game. That's a massive win for Kildare as Pearse Park in the qualifiers was the end of many a teams year. They are motoring along nicely now and will be interesting to see who they get in the next round.
Unlucky for Longford though after being on the front foot for most of the match. The Kildare subs seemed to have made the difference.
Up Leinster GAA! :)

Despite getting turned over by Carlow, Kildare are in the last 16 and now only two games away from the Super 8 so not all doom and gloom. Good win at Longford isn't to be sniffed at, well done Kildare.

We were very shakey, got run through too easily and couldn't deal with the Longford kick out strategy. Showed a bit of character to dig deep in the end. God bless Kevin Feely, i hope he's fully fit for the next round! Made a bigger contribution in ten minutes or so than most did in a whole game. It'll be interesting who we get next, a home game would be great. We seem to do a lot of travelling.
