Totally agree Liffordgael. A man with Mc Gee's experience should know better. The first two knees I could forgive but not the rest. Foolish and now misses the Ulster Final where we could need him against the Quigleys.

No blinkers here I watched it again last night absolute childs play and little or no pressure anytime. He was silly given he was on a card but straight red for that? Laughable. panamasam (Australia) - Posts: 2771 - 12/06/2018 22:09:50 2110789 Link 0 |
Would suggest you watch it a few times more then so. The 5th knee into the back for good measure was the most cynical of the lot. A cowardly act and totally uncalled for. A class act as a footballer but fast becoming a liability to the team. If it was a Donegal player on the receiving end I have no doubt you wouldn't be condoning it.

If same thing happened with a player from another team my thoughts would be the exact same. It is gamesmanship but any contact is minimal including the last time. Stupid yes as he was booked but in my opinion that was not worthy of a yellow card. Hardly a knee u would associate in the octagon barely any pressure applied. Can only imagine Mick Lyons shaking his head in disbelief at what the game is becoming. Compare that to the numerous high hits Ryan McHugh took and nothing given and come back to me. panamasam (Australia) - Posts: 2771 - 12/06/2018 23:27:27 2110823 Link 0 |
Ha Ha no fighting here just debate and discussion about a difference of opinion. He should never have got into that situation esp when so close to getting his first yellow. But I stick by my opinion that a straight red was a joke of a decision especially compared to other stuff that happened in the game and at other grounds too. If Neil had gone down on Harrison's back with real intent to do damage then yes but he is merely leaning on him without any great pressure.

McGee's sending off was fully justified in my opinion. Throwing your knees into a man on the ground is dirty stuff. I think players do get away with that stuff from time to time, but that doesn't make it okay. Straight after a booking was not smart. Left the rest of the team with a mountain to climb if that opposition was stronger. Hopefully we win the Ulster final without him and he comes back with a point to prove, he is a brilliant defender after all. Totally agree with you. Yellow card at worst. Saw a lot worse challenges on Sunday that went unpunished. Referees so inconsistent, the linesman on Sunday last looked like he wanted to be the main attraction, yet he choose to ignore some of the off the ball stuff going on.
