Meath deserved better. Better team imo and they can be very happy with how they preformed. Something to build on for next year.
McEntee was excellent for them and taught O'Sullivan had a great game. Reilly was poor for a normally very good player.

Better for Tyrone had they lost today. Conceding 19 points against a second-rate team? Tyrone are nowhere near at the level required.

Kerry and Dublin must be shaking in their boots after that masterclass from Tyrone, that's a joke btw. Getting worse .... next good team will put us out.

Well done to Tyrone, and hard luck to our boys, they gave it everything but couldn't just make it happen.

Should have held on to win in initial time but Tyrone could have bagged another 3-8 at least! Consensus among Tyrone fans is that they are very poor? Surely they can regroup after this?

Tyrone might not be as far ahead of Meath as you'd like to think essmac!

Thought Meath did well enough but in reality Tyrone had enough possession and chances to win the game 2 times over. Missing the likes of Lee Brennan, Bradley and McCurry killed them their today. And the fact they still have no reliable free/45 taker. Their shooting was truly woeful.

I don't what the stats are but its hard to think of any team hitting as many wides from easy scoring positions and dropping as many short as Tyrone did today.

I can't see Tyrone playing that badly again. Their shooting was awful and the defensive was very passive which is particularly unusual for Tyrone.

Colm Cavanagh played the whole game even though he clearly has some sort of injury and Peter Harte will help improve things too.

From Meath's point of view we really need a Colm Cavanagh style player who understands how to quarterback a defensive system. We're bringing numbers point but after that we have no real system in place. Tyrone should have scored a number of goals.

Midfield was our strongest sector today.

The attack did well at times but I think a part of that was towards lack of intensity in defensive.

Overall I'm completely devastated. I still don't believe we are progressing. How we couldn't win the game in normal time was hard to believe, Tyrone offered it to us on a plate. McEntee needs to bring in a coach alongside him who really understands the modern game. We need to have a five year plan in place and to focus on the young lads coming through.

We badly needed that win, it will hurt for a long, long time.

Best of luck to Tyrone going forward.

the strangest of games. Mcaliskey probably summed up Tyrones performance, started brilliant and just fizzled out. He and Tyrone didnt score for 21 minutes and yet Meath in that time didnt really capitalise.

Ben brennan by far meaths best player. McEntee and osullivan were good too. Meath showed a bit of fight to come back in fairness bit they will feel they left that behind them ..

it was like winning that game was a hot poker. nobody wanted to win it and kept trying to give it back to the opponent. a game where if ever a draw was the right result. Fair play to Tyrone in the end though, they dogged it out.

Another 2 years of this Tyrone County Board. All until Mickey finds a team like in the 2000's. The fun has gone out of football in Tyrone. Machines not skill. Back to the big fortress on the hill eh Mickey.

Had a feeling Meath would go out swinging

Unlucky today

That'll sting them a wee bit as a big win would have been a great tonic for Meath GAA

Still a very good performance and a bit of pride restored after a deserved loss against Longford but credit to Tyrone on what was a very challenging away win and they are still on the road and will have plenty to improve on.. Harte will be back now too right? He got a straight red versus Monaghan and I'm sure he was missed today.

Followed it on twitter. Friend who is Tyrone crazy watched it. Said that Tyrone were crap. Cathal MC Shane, Ó Néill and Mc Aliskey saved them today. Unless they improve they're going nowhere. Some good displays but gameplan not working. Some of their top men very poor apparently. I can't throw stones though as we are in a hole too.

Not sure what to make of that, from a Tyrone perspective we won.........yeh, but that was pretty brutal TBH. Harsh on Meath, for large parts they were the better team, playing the better football, and lets be honest, they should have held out in in regulation time. Tyrone, well we have a lot of work to do, missing those chances, goals and points, was frankly criminal at this level and unless we address these areas then this will be our only championship win in 2018, which is rather depressing. Hard luck Meath, you showed more than enough there to show you are on the right track,

Also McEntee's behaviour at the end was embarrassing. That's not what I expect from a Meath manager.
