Clare got winning scores in added time."
Paudie Maher is a mighty hurler but he gave away 4 frees which Duggan scored because he wasn't able to cope with the Clare forwards running game by blatantly fouling them. Massive result for the Banner... who is going to right them off now!! Ya-hoo!

Yes fatigue may have been a problem 4 weeks in a row. And we will hear plenty about that in the review of this championship format. A far bigger advantage was what Tipp and Cork ended up getting this year - which may not feature in the analysis as much. 2 home games, 1 away game and 1 game at a neutral venue. Whereas Limerick and Clare had 2 away and 2 home games. No need to mention Waterford and how their fixtures turned out etc. and scheduling as they were masters of their own destiny there. So serious advantage for Tipp and Cork over Limerick and Clare this year. As we know how tight this format is and how big an advantage home is. On the broader point, this format should actually be 8 games. Home and away for each - to smooth out any home and away advantages. And scrap the current pre season competitions. Make the allianz league the true pre-season competition. As we dont want the All Ireland championship to turn into something like the rugby six nations where you have a better chance of doing well in one year over the other due to the home and away scheduling. Fairness to prevail please.

We just weren't good enough this year. As Kian Sheedy "if you can't make the top 3, you can't have any complaints".

Clare vs Limerick next week will be some game."

Big result for clare who deserved their win today. Munster cship still hard to call.
Tipp can have no complaints. They haven't been good enough since about April last year. Ryan tried to freshen things up in the league this year but I'd suggest it backfired. I don't think this team is dead and buried just yet and hopefully they can come back next year. There's still plenty of talent there. Having said that we need to unearth some more talent. John Meagher needs to be looked at again and the likes of jake Morris and ger Browne will get more game time next year. Niall omeara and Mikey breen were losses too so I'll try stay positive!!
3 seasons after a change of management tho and it may be time to change again but they're isn't exactly a list of candidates there either

If Limerick take it easy next week then they guarantee a final against Clare, a better prospect than facing Cork it would seem. Would that also push Cork into facing the Leinster losers or is there a draw at that stage?

The lack of candidates to replace Ryan is a big issue. Would Colm Bonnar be worth a try? I'm not sure he'd take the job though.

Because I've said all along Clare are a better team than Limerick and it will be Cork v Clare MHC Final 2018 but Limerick are going well and will have a All Ireland quater final tussle with Kilkenny...revenge for 2007???

Why replace Michael Ryan? Relax a second and let dust settle. You have a brilliant set up. A brilliant team. You will be back

If Limerick take it easy against Clare next week they might not be in a Munster Final. If Cork and Clare win then they are in the Munster Final on 6 points each

Team is going backwards under him Benny. We are too predictable to play against and it looked like the team wasn't properly prepared for championship.

Not having a fixed goalkeeper or full back heading into championship is unforgivable.

If Cork win next week they are through no matter what happens. If they lose and Clare lose they are also through. It is based on the head to head where Cork beat Clare earlier in the competition. A Clare win and Cork defeat would allow the reverse.

I think what aggrieves Tipp fans is that this Tipp team have not played to their potential for the past 2 years and this is a management issue.

Ahem.

Lets see about Clare v Limerick now shall we. We are not very easily beaten in Ennis I can assure you.

The fact that this team is littered with Under 21 All Ireland medals, Under 21 Munster Championship medals, national hurling League medals and All Ireland Senior Hurling medals would probably be part of the reason why.

Also, what people fail to understand about Clare is that we have never been beaten by a big score in since we won our most recent All Ireland, in fact in most games we are in the game right to the death only to fade at the last minute. In general too we have had serious accuracy issues stemming from nervousness. The talent is there to beat anyone, we just need to get mentally right.

Thats why yesterday was huge. I think that win was priceless in the manner we won. I fancy us to beat anyone in Ennis and with this in mind I fancy us to be in this years Munster final.

June 10, and Tipp is out before the hay is even ready for saving. Stunning turn of events for a team that just contested a league final. Meanwhile Limerick continues to gain momentum since they beat Galway in said league. A little like our run last year when we hammered Tipp in the league final and never looked back after that.

What a fascinating championship we're being treated to this year.

You can't put two poor seasons back to back and not expect questions to be asked. KK were even asking questions of Cody after 2/3 rounds of the league.
They've won 3 of the last 9 cship games (Westmeath, Dublin and Clare in 2017). Throw in the other two big games (2 league finals and it's 3 from 11 in the important games Tipp have played in the past two seasons).
Their wins have been against a Westmeath team who finished 4th in 2A in 2017 and a Dublin team that were relegated.
Granted they werent a million miles away in 3 of the 4 games this year but did they deserve to win any of them?

OK. Fair enough. It is right to ask questions. However, the team has been going a while. They have put a lot of hours and played a lot of massive matches. Mick Ryan recognised this and tried to build a big panel to sustain another challenge. It didn't work out this year but that is not to say it won't. Tipperary still have a brilliant panel of players. I think they have the best panel. An early finish this year might just rejuvenate Tipp. Obviously, you are not happy now. Maybe let the emotions settle before making major decisions.

And while on the topic of review of the system. The following needs to be changed. It didnt bite this year but the rule on the head to head needs to change. It is not fair when you have a home and away system. It might have been OK if all games were at a neutral venue. We need to leave it down to points difference only and not have head to head count when teams finish on level points. It is fairer in this current system of 4 games only ....and also will make the system more exciting. For example had Tipp won yesterday, Clare would still have a chance this coming weekend to make the last 3. Likewise Dublin at the weekend could have had a chance of catching wexford had they beaten galway by enough of a difference. The head to heads are an unfair assessment when one team is obviously at home in this 4 game system
