Maybe I'm putting too much stock in the League but I can't see Galway beating KK by more than a few points if at all. I hope you're right though.

I actually think my prediction is slightly conservative if anything. It'll be interesting

Serious prize on offer in fairness! The winner is invited to host the following year's winner in their county. Carlovia if you do happen to win it, would you be ok to act as host next year? No pressure, a tour of Dr Cullen Park will suffice.

Trump, Who is this "THEY" ? Kilkenny were always willing to travel to Salthill and backed Galway's proposals. It was other Leinster counties who vetoed it.

Would it have made a difference in results in years past? I don't know. I doubt it. When Galway got beat it was by better teams not venues. I'm mostly glad for the fans benefit.

I'm surprised you favor Clare by so much over Waterford.

To be honest I haven't a clue how this game will pan out.

The reasoning behind my predicted score, for what it's worth, is that this is Waterford's first game (Munster Championship) and they could be caught cold by a Clare side, although it lost last week, could learn a lot and improve. Bye the way, all the bookies have Clare as clear favourites, with a lot going Clare 4/6 - Waterford 6/4.

I imagine Dr. Cullen was a bishop of KIldare and Leighlin, Cathedral is in Carlow. The diocese covers Carlow, and parts of Kildare, Laois and Offaly, with a few parishes in Kilkenny and Wicklow.

Carlovia can confirm if I am correct or not.

"Dr. Cullen Park was officially opened on Sunday 9 August 1936. It was named in honour of Dr. Matthew Cullen (Catholic Bishop of Kildare and Leighlin 1927-36) who had died on 2 January 1936. The late Bishop was honoured as "a great churchman, a true-hearted gael and a patriotic Irishman".

Thanks for clarifying that Carlovia. I am in the K and L diocese like most of north east Offaly.
Good luck v Kildare at weekend.
