Interesting to read about the Antrim team winning a match with three scores. Funnily enough, I was at a Louth senior semi-final in 2004, where the eventual champions beat their nearest neighbours and great rivals, by 2-0 to 0-5. If memory serves me right, all scores were in the first half. And despite the lack of scores, it was a very entertaining match. LaLu (Louth) - Posts: 233 - 19/04/2018 16:36:56 2093995 Link 0 |

LaLu would you believe that semi-final between the Pats and Cooley was in 2003, 15 years ago. Can't believe that. The half-time score was Pats 2-00 Cooley 0-04. There was only one point scored in the second half. In 2004 the Pats beat Cooley in the senior final on a score-line of 0-07 to 0-06. This was the lowest winning tally in a county final in 70 years since Glyde beat the Tones in 1934 senior final.

Better still, two of the goals were scored in the closing minutes of the game (1 in injury time) with the other (Dunloys 1st goal/score of the game) coming in the 47th minute. Offside_Rule (Antrim) - Posts: 4058 - 19/04/2018 20:46:50 2094027 Link 1 |

The 1946 Longford Senior Championship Final ended on a scoreline of Dromard 0-0, Ballymahon 0-0. I kid you not!!! Dromard won the replay 1-4 to 0-4. arcadia (Longford) - Posts: 221 - 20/04/2018 14:13:19 2094112 Link 1 |
The first Longford Senior Championship Final in 1890 ended Colmcille 1-0, Rathcline 0-4. Back then the scoring was a bit 'rock-paper-scissors' with goals beating points. Hence Colmcille were the winners. arcadia (Longford) - Posts: 221 - 20/04/2018 14:17:40 2094113 Link 0 |

They did but I'm pretty sure that was in 1884 and it was 25 a side. There was a time when one goal was worth more than any number of points! Barnowl94 (Galway) - Posts: 3150 - 21/04/2018 10:45:09 2094180 Link 0 |
