Read that one of the umpires said it was the worst assault he has ever seen. Also, seen a photo Curly had shared of the 'chop' which resulted in the broken arm. When you see the angle the hurl went in there was only one intention with it and it wasn't aiming for the ball! 3 lads ending up in hospital I think says a lot about the approach Carlow took to the game. Back to the result though, it was a good win, I was following it on twitter (with glazed eyes mind you) and couldn't believe that we made it as difficult as that given the numerical advantage at end of the game, irish news said Carlow scored 4 points in injury time without reply. Even though its always nip and tuck between us you'd expect to comfortably hold off a team with 12 v 14. McManus in particular will be a big loss going forward, no doubt why he was targeted in first place. Antrim bottled it AGAIN. They lose at home to Laois. I defy anyone to say I am wrong in my summation of Antrim senior hurlers AND footballers. You never surprise me, why do you bother coming on here everytime Antrim hurlers have a bad day yet you never here from you when they are on form. I would guess you are an Antrim Football man and can't bear the embarrassment that they bring to our county., so every opportunity you get to lower the hurling feel good affect in the county is taken. Please don't mention Antrim and football in the same sentence. They are atrocious at football. Antrim is a Hurling county full stop. Loughgiel Shamrocks have won All Ireland Senior club titles in 1983 and 2012 and Cushendall and Dunloy have represented well outside of Ulster also. The soft Antrim hurlers bottled it AGAIN at the weekend. Let's be honest, they are perpetual bottlers who are mentally and physically weak at senior inter county level. We should stop mollycoddling Antrim hurlers all the time and keep pretending "everything will be OK". Until such times as they toughen up in body and mind they will always be losers.
