Surprised we have no thread set up for the second All Ireland club senior football semi final which takes place in Portlaoise tomorrow at 4.30pm. It's live on TG4. Motte (Cork) - Posts: 48 - 23/02/2018 11:41:21 2079426 Link 2 |
Whilst I hope Slaughtneil win I think Nemo will shade it by a few points. I think the winners of this one will win the All Ireland. oakleaflad (Derry) - Posts: 46 - 23/02/2018 13:19:59 2079454 Link 0 |
Slaughtneill for me. woops (Kerry) - Posts: 2073 - 23/02/2018 13:43:37 2079463 Link 1 |
Slaughtneil haven't conceded a single goal since the Derry final this year and last year I remember they hadn't conceded a single goal in 10 championship games in the run up to the All-Ireland final. Commendable statistics. PortInFaithful (Offaly) - Posts: 472 - 23/02/2018 14:58:03 2079489 Link 0 |
I have watched Slaughtneil twice against Omagh in the Ulster championship and they just seemed to get the job done. A lot of wise heads can see the game out agaist Nemo. Byanthon (Tyrone) - Posts: 1780 - 23/02/2018 16:55:06 2079526 Link 0 |
Nemo won't have experienced what Slaughtneil will bring to the table. Slaughtneil by three DoireCK (Derry) - Posts: 162 - 23/02/2018 17:37:48 2079535 Link 0 |
Having watched them in the hurling vs Na Piarsaigh I can't see Slaughtneil losing this. Westfester (Limerick) - Posts: 943 - 23/02/2018 19:14:59 2079551 Link 0 |
Slaughtneil are the best club team I have seen & I both hope & expect them to win. MuckrossHead (Donegal) - Posts: 5028 - 23/02/2018 22:13:26 2079601 Link 0 |

Nemo were a different animal in extra time. Tomas O Se is some player, 40 this summer. kerrykerry (Kerry) - Posts: 1779 - 24/02/2018 18:46:13 2079737 Link 1 |
Slaughtneil lost that in normal time. They had great possession in the first half but persisted in that bloody awful, sideways, backwards, keeper REPEAT 100 times nonsense. When are Ulster club and county sides going to realise that outscoring the opposition wins games NOT this boring, possession, hand passing crap! Nemo realised halfway through the second half they could actually win and played direct football while Slaughtneil just ran out of puff and ideas in extra time. Hard luck to Slaughtneill. They are a fine club that promote both sports for both genders and do it very well. It is very difficult to combine both at the highest level. They have made a gallant attempt. Ultimately, so far, they have failed to win the All Ireland. That is tough. Sport is cruel. But they will get over it and move on. bennybunny (Cork) - Posts: 3917 - 24/02/2018 19:52:54 2079752 Link 0 |
Nemo looked sharp and confident. Slaughtneil looked strangely hesitant and lacked intensity. They'd play patient probing football and then try either a timid shot into keeper's hands or a wild shot to nothing. I'd not read too much into the result as S'neil provided little by way of opposition today. essmac (Tyrone) - Posts: 1141 - 24/02/2018 21:16:16 2079797 Link 0 |
