The title of Mick O' Dwyer's official Autobiography "Blessed and Obsessed" set's the ball rolling as they say, in my opinion he was on the road to greatness long before he became Kerry senior football manager, it started as a player, he shortened the journey to greatness when he became Kerry manager. Greatness ramped up for him in '75 and stayed on the up and up 'till '84, that was again in my opinion his finest year, perhaps not his greatest though, by 1984 Kerry had won, through the open draw under Mick'O their 6th All Ireland, 9th Munster title, 3rd NFL titles, he capped it off by being nominated Manager of the year, that being the gaa's Centenary year. Kerry's 7th All Ireland and 10th Munster under Mick' O came in '85, their 8th All Ireland and 11th Munster title came in '86, he was then subsequently named Kerry man of the year. supersub15 (Carlow) - Posts: 2904 - 12/01/2018 09:59:00 2067921 Link 2 |
