Jim Gavin DIDN'T win Manager of the year Liamwalkinstown (Dublin) - Posts: 8166 - 14/12/2017 09:57:28 2065151 Link 3 |
Did Galway not win the league and championship whereas Dublin only won the championship, this year? Its manager of the year therefore the repeated success of Jim Gavin probably has little bearing on the outcome of this prize. As much as the claims of Dublins advantages are boring some of the Dubs claims of bias are equally as dull. Move on and go again in the new year. duckula20 (Antrim) - Posts: 175 - 14/12/2017 10:28:34 2065153 Link 3 |
Liam do you not think that bringing Galway to win a first All-Ireland in almost 30 years was a bigger thing than Dublin winning ? Its all subjective anyway and im sure Jim Gavin couldnt care less carlovia (None) - Posts: 1517 - 14/12/2017 10:34:05 2065154 Link 1 |
In fairness Donoghue's achievement is fairly good too. MesAmis (Dublin) - Posts: 13705 - 14/12/2017 10:34:30 2065155 Link 3 |
Couldn't care less about who gets this award as I'm sure JG won't either. I'd imagine O Donoghue won't get too carried away either. Dubh_linn (Dublin) - Posts: 2312 - 14/12/2017 10:56:20 2065158 Link 3 |
Pretty sure this post is not about your feelings towards the award! I would agree with the decision. Galway were outstanding this year. Over a year ago people were saying he was like something out of Father Ted. Now its more like the Pope. Galways year has been top drawer - League, Leinster and All-Ireland Total respect for Jim too Ban (Westmeath) - Posts: 1415 - 14/12/2017 13:24:18 2065171 Link 1 |
Nonsense. Donoghue rightly won manager of the year. Galway won everything there was to be won. Simples. Dr.Watson (Kildare) - Posts: 208 - 14/12/2017 13:35:59 2065172 Link 0 |
No it's not , but just my comment on how little I think the award means at this point. Doesn't matter either that you agree with it or not but you're entitled to your comment as am I. Dubh_linn (Dublin) - Posts: 2312 - 14/12/2017 14:25:30 2065178 Link 1 |
Deserving winner. I wouldn't have begrudged Jim Gavin either - 3 in-a-row is remarkable. keeper7 (Longford) - Posts: 4088 - 14/12/2017 15:36:17 2065184 Link 0 |
Totally agree. Completely meaningless award.

I found it strange that Cody only won it once too when I looked at the list. I would have thought he'd have won a few at least. Trump2020 (Galway) - Posts: 2113 - 15/12/2017 00:32:34 2065218 Link 0 |

Would be hard to begrudge either man winning it but in the end they have the best award they can get and that's an all Ireland medal. In terms of the anti-dubs conspiracy I'd be wearing a tin foil hat by now and getting Jim Corr on the case, that's I believed in it. Spoddgy (Mayo) - Posts: 660 - 15/12/2017 10:07:50 2065232 Link 0 |
