Former Tyrone star Owen Mulligan says his days of playing inter-county football are now over.

The 36-year-old Cookstown native made his return to the All-Ireland SFC stage this summer when he lined-out for London in their defeat to Leitrim in Ruislip back in May.

However, despite getting on the score-sheet for the Exiles that day, the three-time All-Ireland winner says he won't be featuring for them again next season.

"Are you having a laugh. No, I only went in for a brief spell to help them with training and the auld hunger got the better of me," Mulligan is quoted saying by the Irish Daily Mirror.

"It was training Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday and my body couldn't take it. It's a professional sport now."

He will instead concentrate on his club football with Fulham Irish, adding: "They're a good set of lads and I'm happy to play club but county would be a bit too far."
