I think the co board has by in large has impressed in the way they have handled the senior league fixtures and that is a positive step forward. As for the junior leagues I don't think one can blame the co board for the problems associated with clubs trying to field teams and while trying to manage a dwindling player base at adult level football. Most clubs will priotise senior fixtures and want to retain an adequate sub bench hence the demise of junior league football.

There is 2 finals in Brewster park tonite for the Juniors and I say they will be good games especially the Div 1 Final as Roslea and Derrygonnelly seems to have alot of senior based players who can also play Juniors. Can see Kinawley winning the Div 2 Final and Roslea Pipping the Div 1 Final.

I would like to see Irvinestown and Devenish safe after round 18 as their managers are not in your face so to speak every week in the papers. Irvinestown has done well having just been promoted from division 2 but Devenish had a slow start but I think they will rise to the occasion along with a bit of help from their neighbours Belleek who will probably do them a favour considering that they are safe in the top four.

Not long now until the championship and probably Roslea, Derrygonnelly and Belleek are considered as the top favourites unless there is some major upset but I doubt it.

Can an Egg Heads out there give the answer to the following: If a manager gives a ref verbal abuse he is told to leave the field and stand out side the fencing. No card is issued. What rule if any is the ref using here? Can he send the manager off the field?

1. Answering gola, yes a team official, in your case the manager in question, can be indeed be sent outside the area that the referee is charged with officiating. However, the question is what is considered as abuse? I feel managers are entitled to voice their concerns if he feels the referee i being unfair in the application or non-application of the rules. Certain referees do give me concern on their ability to carry out their duties in a fair and transparent manner.
2. Responding to abc1234, if you believe Belleek will give gift their rivals Devenish round 18 and that Irvinestown could somehow beat St Joe's (with their available county players) then you are living in cloud cuckoo land! St Joes are safe bar some disaster on Sunday.

Hi gola, egghead, turniphead or whoever needs to know the answer to the query is...

"When a referee cautions or sends away a bainisteoir/manager or his assistant other bench personnel (which is within the referee's powers), he does not display the red or yellow card. The cards are displayed only when cautioning or sending off a player (including a player named on the roster for this match).

In reply to turniphead, I can assure you that our Erne Gaels team have a very good relationship with and have a lot in common with the Devenish team unlike your Ederney team have with 'arch-enemy' rivals Irvinestown. Our Erne Gaels lads will play a fair game but if Devenish were to edge a win then we would have no problem with that outcome. As for you being extremely boastfully comment proclaiming that Irvinestown could not somehow beat your Ederney team after being already beaten earlier in the league by Irvinestown is more like someone up there in cloud cuckoo land that the poster abc1234! If you want my honest opinion, managers should stay clear of predictions and media exposure as it may come back to hunt them!

Congrats in having a lot in common with Devenish. Hope you spend many happy years together. Honestly, what sort of a statement is that lol????? This place keeps getting worse!

sidelinecut40 from previous postings by you suggests you are in the Ederney camp and obviously that has rattled your cage in case Erne Gaels would play it easy with Devenish this coming Sunday. Put it this way if Ederney were secure in the top four they too wouldn't care if they won or lost. Erne Gaels want to avoid any injuries coming up to the championship so we are not going to risk our players for the sake of saving Ederney from dropping back once again into the relegation zone and playoffs. Irvinestown lads it's now over to yous!
By the way the other thread "Is football about managers or their players?" has made a significant impact on the newspaper concerned as there is not a mentioned of the guy that featured almost every week in headlines and pictures. The whole thing got so embarrassing that something had to be done to give other managers and players fair coverage.

You'd be better putting all your energy into saving your Bank of Ireland rather than this football! Jealousy gets you nowhere lol

Sorry for intervening in this dialogue between erneboy and slidelinecut40 but for clarification purposes Jealousy is described as an emotion, and the word typically refers to the thoughts and feelings of insecurity, fear, concern, and anxiety over an anticipated loss of status.

As an impartial observer, I would ask how could Erne Gaels be jealous of Ederney? The Belleek team have been consistently near the top of the league all season and additionally they are predicted to be one of the top contenders for the semior championship title. Now looking at Ederney's poor to average performance this year hopping in and out of the bottom four worst performers section so how could Erne Gaels be anyway jealous of such a poor performing team?

Tick tock....tick tock...tick tock...

Good morning all from Aussie and what a day it will be in the life of my club of St Molaise back at home as they take on the weemen in what only can be only described as the biggest local derby of the 21st century in what will be a make or break for Ederney's so called chief and his footmen.

Speaking of chiefs, I was not surprised to read all that has gone on recently about self publicity and it reminds me of a phase a teacher once quoted to us at college stating that "People who are afraid to fail can never experience the joys of success" and so it is with the individual concerned!

Now to the last round of the senior league later today, I predict that St Molaise will emerge securing their position and reputation deservingly earned in their first season back in division one. If confirmed, then that will be one hell of an achievement and something every Irvinestown supporter will be proud of and will certainly indulge in their success.

One final word for my colleagues on the St Molaise team, do not be worried about facing a few so called county players because you know that they aren't much better than you and thinking positive like this as you have done all season will see victory accomplished and much satisfaction as you leave behind the Ederney sodden turf to celebrate! Good luck guys!

Thanks for the texts guys and a massive congratulations to St Molaise's with just only 14 men for securing their themselves in division one after holding the weemen to draw on Ederney's own turf after peculiar decisive making by the referee and an early whistle! The final score was Ederney 0-12 v Irvinestown 1-09. That means the so called Ederney grand boys who once were believed they were superior in the league division one couldn't even beat St Molaise once this year, so I would expect major changes at the top if these weemen are knocked out in the first round of the senior championship! Once again, St Molaise you have done your club proud and move on to bigger things next season!
