Good to see the return of club football! It will be interesting to see how different clubs have progressed with the lack of Club Football in recent months.

Are the matches really at half 7 on sunday the 16th or was this a copy and pasting error?

With Fermanagh now out of the championship. What is the best way to work club football? Personally I see championship football being all that matters as the league won't affect what championship you are in. It looks like club football will be at least going into November unless they change it up. Is it possible to split division 1 up and play the reverse fixtures? You can do the same for division 2. Of course by doing this, the points have to be looked at after splitting. In my own opinion we should keep the same points as before the split to give the clubs who have worked all year the gap they deserve. I am also firm believer that the club who finishes top at the end of the campaign should be champions as they could lead the whole way and lose the final and consider the year to be a failure. One final thing… is Maguiresbridge & Belcoo going to get changed in them huts in Derrylin for the championship? Or will they make Lisnaskea & Teemore do this? I was chatting a few players at the weekend and they were saying that they were glad that they didn't get into the Junior league final because they would need to wait till September to play the final! Would this Friday not have been a better date?

I would prefer people's honest opinion on this rather than the usual nonsense that they come out with. I believe that the above needs to be strongly considered and then get preparing for next year (early start to the league?)

Hi Bull, what about a playoff of the league now based on the points achieved? That way the league would be finished early and not affect the championshipwhich afterall is more important to most clubs?

Social media is rife with speculation the leagues are due to stop after the next 3 games - final league psoition decided then!

The Fermanaghh CCC has planned only 3 more senior league games and then the playoff will be arranged. This makes good sense considering the several months of delay in playing fixtures. The players will be much happier with this news and it will help them to focus better on the championship.

This idea would be a complete disaster for club football. We have played about 7 games so far another 3 brings us to 10 with at the most 3 games in the championship a grand total of 13 games. Last year 18 league games plus championship. We may give up club football all together. Next would have the same format assuming we get another good run in the all Ireland. I hope this is not the case for club football

So going by twitter last night people don't really know what is going to happen with the rest of the div 1 & 2 league until tonight's meeting. Does anyone know what the possible outcome could be or what proposal(s) they are going to vote on?

Its a sad situation we find our selves in at this minute. For over eight weeks we played no football and then we had a game last Sunday. Now the CB says we cannot play the whole league! Why did they not come up with some ideas long before now? If and I hope we do well with the county next year what will happen the league. Soon there will be no club football. I hear talk that Div 1 may be split into two groups. The top group play for the league while the bottom half play for fun, what a great idea. Its difficult to keep players playing Gaelic this will have a very negative effect on the club players. Read the papers Kilkenney are in the all Ireland hurling final again and what do they do? Go and play club hurling over the next week or two. Perhaps that is why they win so many All Ireland's. Should we not take a leaf out of their book?

aahh boohoo, im not defending the county board but the clubs are as much to blame, 2015 is a write of for club footbal, the league should be cut short end off!!!! and if their is any meeting taking place it should be to put measures in place to stop this happening in 2016

Rule 1
Fermanagh managament should be given the rite to exempt any 10 players during the county season. the 10 players can change from week to week depending on what the fermanagh management want.

Rule 2
Fermanagh management should only be allowed to exempt a maximum of 2 players per club.

Rule 3
Any club that plays 5 consecutive league games with two county players exempted should be awarded 2 bonus points.

Rule 4
Any club that plays 5 consecutive games with one county player exempted should be awarded 1 bonus point.

something along those line would surely be fair?

As for ones crying about this year its to late to be spitting out the dummy now, forget about it move on!

Did anyone hear what way things were decided about playing the rest of the league at the meeting last night?

The CCC are a 'JOKE', nothing was decided at last nights meeting, it was purely a meeting to organise another meeting. Next year in my opinion they should just go back to the way it used to be. Play the league games every week, apart from the week Fermanagh is playing, that way the League doesn't get affected & county players also have a week to prepare for the match & no one can say anything about injuries, it happens. Kilkenney are playing their club championship in the next 2 weeks & they are preparing for an All-Ireland final.

aahhh yeah great, well why didnt they do that this year?? Cause Mcgrath want more control over county players and club football, which isnt fair, but surely there could be an agreement of a 10player exemptions which would be manageable for both the clubs and the county.

Yeah kilkenny play their club league but id be pretty much 100% sure if Brian cody wanted 5 or 6 players not to take part they wouldnt be playing this week.

Would a 1st 13 type proposal work for the county team or would that be too hard to govern/unfair? Did the leagues in previous years since the start of the introduction of the qualifiers just play away until a week or so until the next time the county team played?

I presume that because we have fewer clubs...more clubs are hit with more players being unavailable. e.g Derrygonnelly 5, Ederney 3, Roslea 3 etc... Distorting the league. Most clubs haven't that much depth so you could have the situation were the top teams in the county could be in a relegation battle...... surely that's no use to club football either. This could have potential for a club v county standoff and all the other knock on effects that would have. Only a thought.

I'm beginning to wonder who has control in the co board is it the CCC or Pete McGrath? Surely it would be easy to overrule the Fermanagh team manager and for the CCC to state in no uncertain terms that the club football leagues must proceed during the intercounty championship period. Another point why are county squad players that are never fielded or field very little not allowed to play club football? Surely, the CCC has to sort out this mess and set in stone definite guidelines for next year. As for this season of football it has to end soon as there are the championships to be played and considering the bad summer weather the grounds conditions are not suitable for playing beyond September. Imagine playing at Lisnaskea in October/November where the pitch would see more water than grass!!

CCC are easy targets in fairness, the blame for this lies solely and squarely at the feet of clubs.
Failure to play starred games, failure to agree to midweek games. If clubs don't want to play without county men then what can CCC do?
McGrath needs to take ten men off that county panel to play with their clubs as well.
On twitter the abuse that CCC took from former players who have been openly critical of fixtures all year was out of order.
CCC is a thankless job, I wonder will any of those people be willing to step up to the job?
Until clubs follow the lead of neighbouring counties and play without county men and play a few fixtures midweek, then the clubs will have to come up with the alternative.
Easy to point the finger of blame but not accept responsibility.

The Fermanagh Senior Football League Division 1 and Division 2 will now continue like this -

1. SFL 1 to become a single round league (Phase 1) with a 5/5 split to follow into SFL 1A & 1B (Phase 2). Phase 2 to be a single round league (2H & 2A matches for each club) to be finished in early December (total of 14 league games for each club). The top 2 teams in the SFL 1A table to contest the SFL 1 final. The bottom two teams in SFL 1B to be relegated.

2. SFL 2 Phase 1 to be com…pleted as per status quo (single round). Phase 2 to be a single round league (2H & 2A matches for each club -total of 13 league games for each club).

3. Bonus points going into Phase 2 of both SFL 1 & 2 to be abolished. Points gained in Phase 1 to stand.
