Fermanagh forward Aidan Breen feels that they must make up for their disappointing performance against Kildare in last year’s All-Ireland SFC qualifier, when the sides meet in a NFL 2 clash on Saturday night.

The Erne County suffered a heavy defeat to the Lilywhites on that occasion, but they have had a decent enough start to the league campaign this year, drawing their opening two matches against Cork and Tipperary.

Now, they entertain Kildare at Brewster Park this weekend and Breen is in no doubt that they can put up a better performance than they did in 2018.

“Last Summer we went into that qualifier coming off a huge disappointment in the Ulster final so that clearly had its impact,” Breen told the Fermanagh Herald.

“For Saturday, we come into the game with those two draws and I would say we are in a much stronger shape all round. We will be in considerably better mood this time around to take them on.”
