Limerick manager John Kiely is in no doubt that his charges will have to be at their best to see off the challenge of an ever-improving Dublin side in Sunday’s NHL semi-final.

The teams head to Nowlan Park this weekend for an attractive double header with Waterford taking on Galway in the other semi-final.

Buoyed by a brilliant win over Tipperary at Semple Stadium last weekend, Dublin will go into this game full of confidence, even though Limerick are strong favourites to win.

Kiely told the Limerick Leader that nothing short of a top performance will be good enough to defeat Mattie Kenny’s charges.

“We know we have a real tough battle against Dublin,” said Kiely. “They were very impressive last weekend – they worked extremely hard, they are physically very strong and are after unearthing a few new players and have their own threats,” said Kiely.

“The bottom line is that they topped Division 1B and have beaten Tipperary in the quarter final and are a side that deserve the respect that we are giving them this week.”
