Leinster U21 HC round-up: Currie bags a hat-trick as Dubs cruise past Laois

May 26, 2018

Dublin's Sean Currie

It was all one-way traffic in O'Moore Park as Dublin ran out 4-16 to 1-10 winners over hosts Laois in round 1 of the Leinster U20 HC today.

Left corner-forward Sean Currie netted a hat-trick of goals for the visitors who enjoyed a 2-9 to 1-4 advantage at the halfway stage.

The second-half followed a similar pattern as the team in sky blue finished with 15 points to spare.

Jake Cranney raised the hosts' green flag in the opening period while their woes were compounded when a defensive mix-up gifted the winners their fourth three pointer late on in proceedings.

Dublin now advance to meet Carlow in the next round.

Extra-time was required to separate the sides in today's other round 1 fixture at Parnell Park as it finished Carlow 2-12, Antrim 1-15 at the end of normal time.

In the end, the Barrowsiders prevailed by 3-22 to 1-19.
