Conor Laverty in action during the Down SFC Final

Will it be a case of third time lucky for Conor Laverty and Kilcoo in this Sunday’s Ulster Club SFC final clash?

The Mickey Moran managed Magpies will square up to Donegal champions Naomh Conaill in Healy Park (2pm) and the team captain is hoping they can make up for the past disappointments of finishing second best to Crossmaglen (2012) and Slaughtneil (2016).

“We've been knocking on the door for a long time,” the former Mourne County forward said to BBC Sport Northern Ireland.

“Last year, there was a lot of hurt there, we felt we underachieved getting beat in the county final. There has been a bit of drive installed back in us.

“They have a lot of quality, we know that. They beat the Ulster champions and it puts them right up there as favourites. We're going in as underdogs, so it's a good position to be going in as.”
