Charity cheques from ‘Kingdom to Croker’ were presented to Autism Support Kilkeel, Southern Area Hospice and Suicide Down to Zero on Thursday past.

Despite the inclement weather 38 members from the Kingdom Men’s Shed and the Kilkeel Community Association had just finished their meal after a very interesting tour of one of Northern Ireland’s most iconic buildings, the Crumlin Road Gaol or the Crum as it was known to those who were held there on remand before making the short journey by tunnel to another impressive building across the road, the Crown Court. Then it was either release or a prison sentence to the more modern Maze prison just outside Belfast. This visit was assisted through the #The Northern Ireland Housing Executive Community Grants Scheme.

The u6 to u16 Camogie Presentations took place on Sunday with a large attendance of parents present which was encouraging for both the players and the coaches, thank you; and thank you to all those who assisted with this event.

If anyone is interested in coaching any An Ríocht Football team for the 2020 season, application forms are now available at the club or on-line. Please complete and return before Sunday 1st December. Any queries speak to Football Coaching Officer Thomas Sloan.

Open invitation to all former Camogie players, current Camogie players and parents of juvenile Camogie players to an informal get together on Thursday 21st November from 7.30pm to 8.30pm to look back on 2019 and discuss the way forward for An Riocht Camogie in 2020 over a cup of coffee. Please show your support for our Camogie coaches and administrators who give so much of their time over the year by giving one hour tonight.

An Ríocht will hold a Planning Event on Saturday 23rd November @ Dunavil from 10am to 1pm including breakfast. All Executive committee members are expected to attend, and all sub-committee members are also encouraged to attend, as are all other persons who feel they have something to offer to An Ríocht going forward. The get-together will use the Club Development Plan as a starting point to assess the current position. It will also address immediate needs such as gaps on the Executive and on sub-committees, governance, coaching and games, fund-raising, and any other business arising from the discussions.

We will endeavor to have facilitators in place to ensure the morning is productive and your attendance is worthwhile with a report in early January. It’s an opportunity to get the year off to a positive start, so please let’s not waste it. Please confirm your attendance before Sunday 17th November.
