St Patricks Portaferry club notes

November 12, 2018

Ferry Fit 2018 - St. Patrick's Portaferry Ferry Fit Challenge 2018 has come to an end, the achievements of the members, once again, phenomenal and the end of challenge bash was an absolute ball. The committee would like to thank each and every participant and motivator, they were fully committed for the 9 weeks. We also need to acknowledge the roles of those who made contributions to our success - St. Columba's Secondary School, St. Mary's Primary School, Portaferry Hub, St. Patrick's Community Centre and Portaferry Sports Centre for the use of their venues. The Ards and North Down Everybody Active Campaign was a great boost with tutors supplied for classes. Portaferry Sports Centre also provided classes. Big thanks to Magellan Aerospace, Supershop and the people of Portaferry for their generosity on our Action Cancer / Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust charity day. Also there is the Portaferry Hotel for their fabulous outside catering for the ball on Saturday night. Those who set up and helped keep scores on the challenges were vital. The job of running Ferry Fit would be much harder without you. The extraordinary achievements of Ferry Fit people continues. FFC 2018 saw a total weight loss of Mmmmm 155 stones, an average Ioss of 10.5 per person. The waist reduction over the nine weeks was over 20 metres. Preliminary looks at the beginning and end surveys have shown improvements in both bodies and minds. Finally my fellow FFC Committee Members, brilliant work again people. See you again next year everyone. From Jim Mullan.
