Jim McGuinness has been linked with the vacant Derry City FC manager’s post.
Kenny Shiels departed the Candystripes last weekend and former Donegal manager McGuinness is being touted as a possible replacement, according to The Irish Daily Star.
Twenty-twelve All-Ireland winning manager McGuinness previously coached at the Brandywell before working with Celtic as a part-time performance consultant and Chinese club Beijing Sinobo Guoan as assistant manager.
McGuinness confirmed during the summer that he was actively on the lookout for a manager’s job in soccer having completed his UEFA A Licence.
Derry City took to social media yesterday to invite applicants for the position of first team manager. McGuinness would have a great chance of securing the job if he was interested.
