Kennelly Salutes Egoless Dubs

Dublin's selfless attitude and 'no d******d' policy has them ahead of the curve,

Stupid comment to make unless he has an insight to all the Counties and totally ignoring the big blue elephant standing in the corner.

We all know the top team managers give a few bland and boring interviews and allow a few selected players to do the same. What do you mean by 'huge egos in other teams'? Can you give an example? Most of the interviews are regurgitated cliches.

As Brian Coady said recently, who and self interest infects a dressing room and destroys it....but and I've seen this raised by commentators and fans said countless times....I'd hazard a guess most county teams (successful) ones are egoless...we all hear how great dublin players are with the homeless, the sick, visiting people in hospital and nursing homes....

It's great and they are a credit to themselves and their families BUT other county teams and players also do all of this. Brolly in his recent interview with Dion Fanning also touched on Dublin but also took a swipe at Mayo in this subject....I don't know why they feel the need to keep repeating this."
It's all about bowing the the top dog, the slave mentality.

I never liked Kennelly, he always came across as arrogant, what he did to Nicholas Murphy and the dancing on the podium after the 09 final was a total joke.

I wouldn't be one bit surprised if you could look back the same posters on here now singing his praises would have said something similar to whst you've said in 2009

Never warmed to him either, a bit sure of himself and lacked self awareness

There are literally hundreds like him. Former players with an opinion. I don't get why he is being quoted here or that his view even merits a thread.

And if in the morning he had an article about Dublin you agreed with he'd be the greatest man ever

Or any of the hundreds of others you care to mention. My point would be the same.

Look at who started it and you'll get your answer. Now that he hasn't got the reaction he wants he's no where to be seen

Hmmm and theres me thinking it got the exact reaction I was after

What reaction do you think I wanted?

I just found it funny that Mr Kennelly was praising Dublin so much after the efforts he went to in the pinching of his own county's upcomings, which he was lambasted by his own for.. something he's very aware of I'm sure.

It's almost as if he was trolling his own with his comments celebrating Dublin not really that long after the final

Seems like a fella very comfortable with himself and I see that doesn't sit well with some :)

You asked a question so I'll answer it

I found his comments to be off considering he pinched some of Kerry's best prospects

I found it amusing to see him praising Dublin after he was so actively involved in weakening Kerry's prospects

I was being tongue in cheek. Can't speak for anyone else's comments though

Kennelly must know well how he's perceived by many in his own county

So his comments at this time were a bit odd

Almost as if he couldn't care less

So you are celebrating the fact that a former Kerry player trolled his own county by praising the dublin team. You must be delighted, good for you. At least you are honest about it, eventually.

What Kennelly did in the 2009 final was one of the worst, dirty hits you will ever see on a sports field. What was the reaction of the media and many within the GAA world?? " Ahhhh Shhhurrrrr, 'tis a man's game, isn't it great to see Tadgh winning All Ireland and Aussie Rules Championships". It was scandalous. If that had been a Tyrone, Armagh, Donegal or Meath player he and his county would have been ripped apart and declared Public Enemy No.1.
