Intermediate Division met afterwards and asked about scheduling final, they were told that some guys son is playing soccer there next year and he wanted to pay for a new pitch for his son, so everything is being pushed back and there is a scramble now for pitches.
Sobering thoughts, days at Gaelic Park are coming to an end. NYGAA have to find a new home

The time surely has come when we have our own place. Watching the top table making a mess of transfers and sanctions to benefit there own clubs it's no wonder we're in this mess.
Wouldn't be surprised that we messed up with the college.
When are we going to be run right?

I'm told early may god junior and intermediate.
Seniors have to make players legal for county team so should be senior games soon. College is replacing surface in November

Early May for Junior and Inters? The New York vs Sligo match kicks off the championship in both Ireland and here. What about the Knock Out Cup? Are the Senior Board scrapping this cup and going straight into the championship? From what i have heard from someone in the know, no decision has been made by Manhattan College yet as to when they will start work on the field. The NYGAA are hoping and pushing for it to be after the championship season has ended in September. Be interesting if anymore information is given at this weeks meeting.

From rumours reaching us the update will begin on Monday, May 8.
Your championships did not begin until the first week in June in 2015, and 2016.

Good article in Irish Echo regarding the Croke Park overturning of our bye laws.
I thought the reason for a Bye Law is to make a rule to help. Can someone explain.

Any word circulating on how the county team are shaping up? Training / Games etc? Things very quiet this year and with them playing Donegal who may be in a Div 1 league final next weekend playing NY two weeks tonight I thought there would be more buzz about the squad. Sligo in just over 4 weeks I guess. I guess no news may be good news??

Any updates about the field or start of matches from meeting on Thursday? According to a few people the chairman wasn't present and nothing new about starting the season. NY v Donegal on Holy Thursday and Holy Saturday....will be good to see what kind of team we have this year. Darren Freeman and Luke Loughlin have gone back to Ireland, they both we huge in the match vs Roscommon last year. Who will pick up the slack for those two??

It would be very sad if Cavan fold. The club with the longest unbroken history in the NY GAA....since 1914. Won an inter final last year against all odds probably helped by their opponents best player being red carded very early in the game. This also in spite of a rule change denying their players the opportunity to be drafted. As usual clubs are counting their eggs and value their chances higher with the elimination of an opponent.

But there would be no reason for Cavan to fold... why did they bother fielding in the intermediate final last year if they were not intending on going senior should they win? surely every team in intermediate starts out the year with the intention of winning and therefore going senior? otherwise what's the point?

You make a good point. Kerry played St. Barnabas in the 2015 Inter final. If Kerry had won there would have been four teams in the senior division in 2016. Kerry are allowed to field a team in the inter section again this year. If they win the other team in the final will most likely refuse to go senior. Are Kerry intermediate allowed inter county transfers and sanctions ? Seems wrong. All club second teams should be in the junior section and not allowed any sanctions or transfers. The second team is allowed in because the club(s) have enough surplus players to field another team. If so they do not need bolstering with imports.
