Davy Fitzgerald described Wexford's first half performance in their 2-27 to 2-16 defeat of Laois as 'unreal'.

While the Sixmilebridge man found fault with certain aspects of the Leinster champions' second half display, he was overall pleased with his side's winning start to their Allianz Hurling League campaign.

"Every game you play, you have to take it 100%. You have to pay them the utmost respect, especially after the result they had (against Dublin) last year," the Wexford manager said in an interview with RTÉ.

"So, happy with the result."

"But we gave them two goals. They were two of our mistakes. We know that and we have to clean that up. That's the only thing I'm not happy about. I actually think we played some unreal stuff in the first half.

"I thought we played really good stuff in the first half. But we shouldn't have been going in up two points. We should have been up way more."
