In the event of draws, penalties will be used to decide this weekend’s national league finals.

The GAA has confirmed that Saturday’s Division Four and Division Two football deciders as well as Sunday’s Division One football/hurling double-header will all finish on the day, with no provision for replays.

Derry meet Leitrim in the Division Four decider at Croke Park at 3pm on Saturday, followed by the Division Two final between Donegal and Meath at 5. On Sunday, the hurlers of Limerick and Waterford face off at HQ at 2pm, with Kerry and Mayo scheduled to contest the football final at 4pm.

However, the throw-in time of the second fixtures on each bill could be moved back if the earlier games are not settled inside the regulation 70 minutes. In such an event, two ten-minute periods of extra time will be played. If the scores are still level, then two more five-minute periods of extra time will be added.

If the teams are level after 100 minutes, a penalty shootout will take place – something that has never happened at Croke Park before.
