From College Rise, Drogheda, Patrick 'Paddy' McGinley passed away on February 18th, 2017. Born in Donegal in 1919, he served in the Irish Army and An Garda Siochana. While stationed in Newbliss, County Monaghan, he played at midfield for Killeevan Sarsfields, helping them win the 1944 Monaghan SFC. A devoted family man who maintained a keen and active interest in the GAA for much of his life, Paddy represented Na Piarsaigh Hurling Club and Oliver Plunketts GFC in Drogheda.
