Ronan Murray, Aaron Bergin and Ross King were the goal scorers as Laois finished with six points to spare over Carlow in today’s second round Walsh Cup fixture.

The Netwatch Cullen Park scoreboard read Laois 3-19, Carlow 0-22 when the final whistle was sounded.

Murray and Bergin registered goals in the opening period which helped parachute Eddie Brennan’s side into a 2-9 to 0-11 interval lead.

King’s three pointer arrived in the 49th minute and sent the O’Moore County on the way to a deserving win.

Round 3 will see Laois entertain Westmeath at home on Sunday, January 5 while Carlow will be away to Dublin.
