Kilkenny boss Brian Cody is set to be without key defender Paul Murphy for next year’s National League campaign.

The Danesfort clubman and four-time All Star is heading on peace-keeping duty in Lebanon with the Irish Army next week and will be serving with the Defence Forces alongside his Kilkenny team-mate Richie Reid.

As a result, Reid is set to miss out on club duty with Ballyhale Shamrocks in the coming weeks, according to a report in today’s Irish Independent.
