Walsh in defiant mood

February 21, 2019

Kilkenny's Walter Walsh shakes hands with Dublin keeper Gary Maguire.

Kilkenny forward Walter Walsh believes that a win over old rivals Tipperary on Sunday would be the perfect boost following their defeat to Limerick.

The Cats were humbled by the reigning All-Ireland SHC champions in their own backyard last weekend. They now must quickly turn their attentions to a clash with Tipperary at Semple Stadium this Sunday.

And Walsh told the Kilkenny People that a win over their old rivals would be just what the doctor ordered.

“It would be a good boost to win because there’s always that healthy rivalry with Tipperary. I’m looking forward to Sunday,” said Walsh.

“Everything is still to play for. There’s four teams on two points and Wexford have four points. Anything can still happen.”
