Replying To royaldunne:  "Yeah well I'm that case it certainly doesn't suit galway. Joyce lived up to his name today, Galway purists of football my ass. The better team LOST today and you can thank the ref for that."
Galway's first year up in Div 1 after a spell in Div 2 in 2018 and we get to the League Final. Meath's first year up in Div 1 after a spell in Div 2 in 2020 and ye get relegated . Who does it suit? It took Meath years to get upto Div 1 but it took a few weeks to go down to Div 2.

Should The Rebel Flag Be Banned At Cork Matches? - 6 Like(s)

Replying To Cockney_Cat:  "There was no 'genocide' orchestrated by Cromwell in Ireland."
So he landed an Army in Ireland to go on holiday is it? He came here with only one intention and that was to wipe out the Irish Catholic Race by whatever way he wanted.

I wonder will they tear down the statue of Cromwell who orchestrated the genocide of the Irish People.

Gleason the Galway goalkeeper (for an ex soccer keeper) really needs to learn how to catch a ball and then hold onto it! Ist goal...could have maybe tipped it over the bar or jumped up and caught it. 2nd goal....don't know what he was at. 3rd goal....he just stood there and waited for the ball to bounce!

Division 1 football doesn't really suit Meath unfortunately?

Replying To lowballplease:  "Pearse Stadium is a white elephant. Duggan Park is an excellent option for matches with its location."
Sell Pearse Stadium.Renovate Duggan Park, buy the Fair Green across the road from it and fill it with concrete for a mega Car Park.

Replying To oldsam_newsam:  "It probably doesnt suit them at the moment but I agree with royaldunne. And what does that say about Galway? It tells me that you are deluding yourself if you think you will come anywhere close to Dublin at the business end of the championship."
Worry about the Championship when the Summer starts. I'd rather have my County in a Div 1 League Final than relegated to Div 2?

Tipperary V Mayo - 4 Like(s)

Replying To Jim_Shorts:  "Did they hell. 16 points down at half time. Mayo dropped intensity big time. Dublin maintained their intensity throughout. Mayo could of won that game by 20+"
I agree they could easily have won it by 20+ but what was the point in pushing on and risking injury when it was wrapped up by half time! Mayo were definitely trying out attacking tactics in the first half in preparation for the Dubs. That Mayo full foward line are better than the Dub full back line!

Replying To BarneyGrant:  "You have picked 6 results. One winner and one loser (Antrim didn't win) so the jury is out on your bet, assuming you have one. You never said anything about a Galway/Clare double nor a bet on a red card, which I do not believe any of the books accept?"
Every dog in the street knows when limrik are playing somebody will get red...the question is who and how many will get sent off? It was a toss between Hegarty or Gilliane, I backed Hegarty.

What a bunch of aul ones!! OK we didn't win but we didn't loose either and all of a sudden everyone is flapping!! 1 defeat in about 19 Championship matches over the last two and a half years isn't bad! This is still a very good dangerous Galway team who are hard to beat and nobody likes playing against Galway. Two good tough away games coming up and that's the sort of challange you want to relish in...bring it on!!!!

It's very amusing reading the limrik posters getting so upset and defensive!! What started it off was a comment staying Hayes should have been sent off (now suspended) Jez they can't take any criticism whatsoever!! Very unusual "crowd" with no trust whatsoever.

Terrible sad to see such a Wonderful hurler like Joe retire. Those 4 sideline cuts in last years Semi Final were fantastic and he was having a brilliant game until the sly belts across the elbow and lower back happened! No other County singled him out for dirty slaps only limrik!

Duggan Park Ballinasloe is the place. Old Town with big wide streets and a easy access motorway unlike Medieval Athenry town with narrow one-way streets. The Fair Green could be bought and smothered in concrete for a mega carpark. Obviously they would have to renvote the old stand and terraces... 13,000 was the old capacity but that was literally shoulder to shoulder packed!! Like the '94 Co. Final when Athenry bate sarsfields!!!!

Replying To PoolSturgeon:  "Either you are having a laugh or you must have been on the beer today. Neither of the 2 players you mentioned or any of the "newbies" proved that they were good enough to be on the panel not to mind secure a championship starting place. They were all equally mediocre. Unless there is a big improvement in the coming weeks , retirements aside our championship starting team wont be much different from what it was last year"
I was being sarcastic, totally agree with what you have said. I know Henry wants to try out players and give everyone a chance but it backfired today! From what I saw today on beosport TV Galway are playing as individuals to try impress Henry for their own position on the panel they are definitely not playing as a team. That's what happens when you bring in lots of different players........everyone is out for themselves and no team work. Also I think they need to raise the fitness training up a few knotchs some of the established lads looked bogged....Gmac,N.Burke,P.Mannion,C.Mannion,E.Nilland,E.Murphy
