50% is a pass, Oran were within an asses roar and nobody really cares about relegation

My point was its very disrespectful to be predictions on matches before they are played. Look at Kerry, no one inc bookies gave them a chance. Senior or intermediate championship be it hurling or football anything can happen on the day.

Relax, it's only banter.

Well done to cortoon on a great win over Headford, I fancied Headford in this , they must be disappointed as big things were expected

Cortoon now have a mountain to climb with Adrian Varley injured. Pity they had some chance against breatnachs wirh him but now breatnachs look poised to win it out and live up to the bookies as hot favourites.

Hardly "hot favourites" considering Oughterard beat them by 2 points coming from 7 down at halftime and by all accounts should've won by more.
Dunmore v Oughterard gets top billing in the stadium on Sunday week for a reason, Breathnachs should take care of Cortoon but then that's what they said about Headford !!!!

While winning on penalties is never ideal, it serves a purpose. Oranmore can consider themselves unlucky to be out of the Championship, Gerry Fahy did a fine job with limited talent but huge commitment from the lads. 2 very contrasting styles of play, to be fair Dunmore looked more comfortable on the ball across the entire pitch, Oran were more bullish in their approach which nearly worked, still a replay would've been nice for the punters to observe.

What was the difference in the styles of play?

Agreed. Penelties is a cruel system and Fahy is underestimated as a manager. He shows savage commitment himself.

Whatever about breatnachs been hot favourites that can be open to debate but without a shadow of doubt they are under a lot more pressure after leaving it behind them last year v Spiddal.

Big win for the willies, should have won it by more I think, I can't get over how poor Aran are up front they are so 1 dimensional, it's a change from their league game plan and their plan in last years football, very easy to defend.
I felt the needed to get up this year or they never will, with the talent they have it's hard to say it but their ship has sailed, only 1 up next year and 2 seniors taking the drop this year, it'll be very difficult

They should beat clifden but their heads are hanging and losing can become a habit if they allow it.

2 west teams favourites for promotion and 2 other west teams in the relegation final!!!

Dunmore were content to play keep ball and probe for the opening, similar to the top inter county teams of today. Oranmore prefer the high intensity high press, breaking fast on a turnover kinda game, my gut feeling was if it went to a replay Dunmore would've schooled better and won through by 2-3 points.

No system is perfect when a result is required, but the clubs agreed to penalties being the decider up to 1/4 final stage across the board, semi finals, I believe must have a replay at the first time of asking.
Fahy has been around the block a bit with Clubs and between codes, depending on where you go and who you ask you'll get varying degrees of positive or negative feedback about him, his commitment is never in question.
Both semi finals are effectively finals as both winners get promoted, both games could go to the wire with the Dunmore v Oughterard one being the tighter one to call. Both Clubs have a pedigree of playing quality football, don't rule out extra time and penalties. Interesting to see Thomas Murphy has been appointed to ref this one, he's (arguably) currently the best football ref in Galway with a career on an upward trajectory, remember where you heard it first !!!

Oddly enough, nobody really gave Cortoon a prayer against Headford, MB are beatable, just ask Oughterard who have their hands full with Dunmore, expect the winners of that one to win the final, somebody better tell Cortoon!!!

Agree on ur point about Thomas Murphy. Himself and Austin O Connell are probably the 2 best refs around at moment. They come to a pitch with a neutral persona, which is nice to see. Now in fairness they are also human and will get the odd call wrong. Nut like some regs who seriously need a reality check
