One of the most eagerly awaited County Conventions the country has ever seen takes place in Offaly next Tuesday night.

The much-publicised contest between current Offaly chairman Tommy Byrne and former All-Ireland winner and RTE GAA Pundit Michael Duignan has made national headlines since it was announced that the latter would run for the position.

The chairman’s contest is not the only position that’s being contended as delegates will also vote on vice-chairman, assistant secretary, treasurer and Leinster Council delegates.

Both contenders for the chair have been busy canvassing in recent weeks and it really will be interesting to see who comes out on top.
