Donegal manager Declan Bonner won’t be calling on his Gaoth Dobhair players for this weekend’s Allianz FL Round 4 fixture with Fermanagh.

Following their All-Ireland Club SFC semi-final defeat at the hands of Corofin last Saturday, Bonner has no intention of rushing them back into action.

“They are getting a week off, but they will be back training from next week,” he informed the Irish News.

“It is very difficult to step in, even though you are playing at a high level of club activity and it is a big step to county.

“So it will probably take them a couple of weeks to get back into things. We will see how they go.”

Gaoth Dobhair and Donegal midfielder Odhran MacNiallias, meanwhile, is set to sit out the entire league campaign but Bonner expects to have him available for the championship.

“He was very close to the late Micheal Roarty and he has got be given time now. I will expect to see him back, but not in the next few weeks.”

Bonner also revealed that the experienced trio of Michael Murphy, Paddy McGrath and Frank McGlynn remain sidelined for the clash with the Ernesiders.
