Austin Stacks will represent Kerry in next Sunday's Munster club SFC semi-final against Nemo Rangers following East Kerry's county final victory over holders Dr Crokes yesterday.

As a divisional team, East Kerry are precluded from playing in the provincial club championship. In previous years where a divisional team won the Bishop Moynihan Cup, the last club side standing would have represented the Kingdom. But following a recent rule change, the Kerry club championship winners - which is confined to the county's eight senior clubs - go on to play in Munster in the event of a club not winning the Kerry SFC.

Austin Stacks manager Wayne Quillinan admitted to Radio Kerry that he had been preparing for the possibility of playing in Munster.

"It was just around the final whistle that we said, 'Right, we're there'," he said.

"We have a small bit of work done on Nemo. Obviously, until the final whistle today, we couldn't show it to the lads. We'll be fine-tuning ourselves this week and focusing on ourselves as much as we can."
