Ulster Hurling Championship

Breaks my heart but well done the Crans - Down hurling can lift itself a bit out of the gutter. Crans deserved their win but by God how poor were the Emmetts? They never looked anything like the team of the last 3 years and paid for it dearly- are they finished or will they comeback next yea r firing on all cylinders. Crans non stop persistence paid off with 4 goals scored from ground hurling ( remember that ). The Dall will now fancy their chances but Down hurling isn't that far away.

you can only beat what's put in front of you but great, tigerish display from our lads and now for the Dall who've proven to have a soft underbelly in the past when we've met them in Ulster finals.

We'll be underdogs but that's fine.

4G wifi poor enough here on the Loughdoo road.

Hard luck to Liatroim and clonduff who came up against to very good teams yesterday but wow what a performance from ballycran, can honestly say I never seen it coming. They played like men inspired from the keeper who made 2 fantastic saves the whole way through to the subs who came on. Slaughtneil just weren't ready or else didn't expect the level of intensity and hurling that the down men brought. All the best in the ulster final against a very good but also beatable Cushendall team. Down hurling just not finished yet with ballycran and the schools team competing in ulster finals.

Looking forward to this ulster final. Ballycran are capable and will relish underdog tag for this one.

Fantastic result for St. Joseph's and hopefully they can do the business in the final against a tough Ruairi Og! With Slaughtneil out of the Football Championship I definitely fancied them given Ulster and the All Ireland a serious crack which makes the Ballycran result even more impressive! There'll be a lot of flags all around the Kircubbin/Rubane area and great buss for the parish! Up the Crans!

I'd rate Keady highly and I attempted to post as such but didn't get accepted for some reason.

Keady will give St Galls their fill as well.

Liatroim haven't developed a team game and are reliant on individuals and once you go up the levels a handful of individuals no matter how talented will come unstuck.

Beating our second string on a Monday night isn't enough to develop a proper senior hurling team.

That's not a dig at Liatroim, that's just cold hard facts.

How many of the Down Christy Ring winning team are on this current Ballycran squad? I know the goalkeeper and think I recognize a few others.

What are Ballycrans chances this weekend, even though they beat slaughtneil, Cushendall are still going in as big favourites, will take a similar performance from the Crans to take the ulster title, but can they put 2 displays like that back to back?

If we can get about the Dall like we did against SN then I think we've every chance.

Dall undoubtedly favourites but we don't fear them either and need to believe in ourselves as we've improved every game we've played (barring the Down final but were still in control)

I think we'll steal it by the odd point.

McManus will roam about going about his business dictating play, but if he stays in full forward crans are in trouble p flynn will be exposed. Not a great hurler just there to injure someone.

The Emmetts are all about physicality and less craft - Dall have both and a lot of skill and will not be expecting a walk in the park. I'd be surprised if they're not 6 or 7 points up after 20 mins, if they are Crans will never pull it back - they are a totally different animal and have beat much better teams to come out of Antrim.
Still hope Crans put up a preformance .

The Ruairi Og are favorites for sure but the Cran will be up for it and who know with all the pressure on Cushendall. The Cran can cause some problems with their speed and the Athletic Grounds will allow for ball to travel fast along the ground. Hopefully a decent crowd with the junior final on before.

Club Championship Games need more coverage they're fantastic to watch and attracting massive crowds. 8,000 at the Cross vs. Coalisland game that's more than some summer championship games.
