I don't watch the women's world cup, I barely watched the men's one either though. I have no children so it makes no difference to me how strong or weak female sport is, it is irrelevant to me. Most of the men who are interested in female GAA or soccer are men with daughters and they accuse you of being a misogynist if you take no interest in it. They have a right to be involved if they want but I also have a right not to care about it.

Did The Rugby Steal A March On Gaa During Presidents Biden Visit - 6 Like(s)
I prefer Trump over Biden. I don't think it is right to be a fan of someone just because they have some Irish ancestry.

All Ireland Club Final, Kilmacud V Glen (Derry) - 5 Like(s)
People are looking at this incident the wrong way. They say that the 16th man didn't make a difference. The point is that the 45 should have been retaken and so they may have scored a goal from that. Also the point people make about how Glen wouldn't have been complaining if they scored a goal against 16 men. That is a different scenario, in that scenario the 16th man obviously didn't impact the result given that Glen scored a goal. In this scenario we don't know if the 16th man impacted the result.

Discussions like this make it clear how much the middle class Irish dislike the lower class, I couldn't read much of the Boards.ie thread. They will take any chance to degrade and abuse them. There were thousands of peasants in Dublin who weren't out rioting but the middle/upper class ignore that. I find it ironic given that the immigrants they always stick up for are also usually part of the lower class. So when you make your jibes about the lower class you are insulting them too.

All Ireland Final 18 - Dublin V Tyrone - 4 Like(s)
I will be supporting Dublin, I am from Ballyronan South Derry, I would always support the 5 Northern teams against southern teams but not Tyrone, I admire their players and history, I saw them play a lot in 2000s so I remember how good they were but I think they are like the NI soccer fans, claiming they have a monopoly on Ulsters core history, the red hand, etc, it is insulting to me as an O'Neill and a proud Ulsterman who actually lives in land once ruled by the O'Neills.

Dublin's Success Not Down To Money - GAA President - 4 Like(s)
Dublins success is partially down to their genetics, people ignore this sort of thing, both physically and mentally, Dublin has the highest amount of high IQ people in Ireland due to Dublin being the location of most "High IQ jobs", having a high IQ is a big advantage in sport as it makes you handle decision making very well.

2019 Attendances - 4 Like(s)
I haven't been at a Gaelic Football match since 2013, I feel as though live sport is a family affair, I do not feel comfortable as a loner man going to football games however I do go to concerts alone, the reason being is that the concerts don't be on TV whereas football games do so I have to force myself to go. People dislike loners in society as they think we are a threat.

All Ireland Final 2023 - Dublin V Kerry - 4 Like(s)
The exciting final that they all wanted. Watching Dublin win their 7th All Ireland in 10 seasons or watch Kerry win their 2nd in a row and 3rd in 10 seasons. I would prefer Dublin to win.

The Musings Of Tom Smith - 3 Like(s)
It is worth pointing out that loyalists are offended by the Derry GAA crest which is essentially a leaf. They put Derry flags on bonfires last year. I don't think changing the anthem will make a difference.

Was Joey Barton Correct When He Said Woman Should Not Discuss Mens Sport - 3 Like(s)
I don't agree with having female pundits as they have no experience in playing men's football so you can't take their opinions seriously. Mens football is much more physical than woman's. It would be like having a club footballer as a pundit who never played county. It wouldn't make sense as they never played in the All Ireland mens championship.

Replying To 11jm11:  "People talk of reunification but has Ireland ever existed as an independent 32 county country? I don't think so."
I don't get it when unionists/southerners make that point. Does that mean you don't agree with the existence of your country now then? After all Donegal had nothing to do with Munster historically and Galway had no connection to Waterford. Anyway, there were Northern/midlands connections long ago with cousin kingdoms sharing the High kingship.

GAA President - Jarlath Burns - 2 Like(s)
One thing I like about Burns is that he has vocally supported Catholic education whereas men like McConville want more integrated schools which heavily dilute Irish heritage.

Counties Sweating On All-Ireland Football Qualification - 2 Like(s)
Meath belong in the Tailteann cup as I think it is named after a festival that took place somewhere around that region. Recently I read on a forum that the ancient kingdom of Meath actually was around the area where modern county Westmeath is. It makes sense as Meath means middle.

Rorysboys was complaining when the bandwagoners didn't go to the Division 2 final and now he is complaining at them possibly going to the Derry match. He will still be complaining if Donegal bring a big crowd to Croke park in a quarter final. Tiresome stuff. I haven't bothered to look for a ticket yet, I don't understand the hype for this match. If any left overs go on Ticketmaster for the Ulster games I will go.

JP McManus Donates €1M To Each County Board - 2 Like(s)
He obviously has a comical amount of money to be in a position to do this. I personally am not going to get on my knees and thank billionaires for their money like the rest of you. Men like this live on a different realm to the rest of us.

Is Dublin's Success False, Tarnished And Bought? - 2 Like(s)
I am ignorant on the issue but how does money build a good football team? they get extra protein bars or what? In my eyes it is obviously to do with having a larger population to pick from, Dublin will always be able to pick 20 great players.

How Do People Prepare For All-Ireland Day? - 1 Like(s)
I wouldn't go to an All Ireland final as a neutral as I think it would make it less special if my own county got there some day. I will only go to a final if Derry get there again. Also I wouldn't feel right about taking tickets when many people from the 2 counties would miss out.

Is These White And Yellow Gaa Boots A Fashion Statement Or What - 1 Like(s)
I preferred when all players wore black boots which isn't that long ago, maybe late 2000s. Those colourful boots look childish to me.

Can I remind several posters that Derry aren't at full strength. They are missing Lynch, McKinless who is arguably the best defender and new player Murphy who was motm against Tyrone. He has a broken finger.
