How much does a GAA football manager get paid ? What are the current rates ? I have been coaching GAA for years I think it's time to earn a few bob for my volunteering ? Last time I was involved in paying a manager it was 100 a week. Any suggestions ?

Kilcoo have won the last 7 of 8 senior football championships in the Royal County so whats's the big deal about being a small and rural parish ? They must be raising some funds to pay for the team management of volunteers and all that mileage ploughing up and down those wee country roads for the love of the game from our wee Darrie Boys ach aren't the a class act ! Plenty of clubs up here in Derry could be doing with that free and brilliant management coaching advice ?

' Smell of money leaving a stench'. Joe Brolly in the Independent today says it as it is. The corruption in the GAA with the pursuit of money to pay managers and coaching staff is criminal. We have lost the arguement within the debate on amateur -v- professionalism. We are paying to go to games and support our clubs and the money is being used primarily to pay wages to managers at all levels in club and county games.

Brilliant success story for this county. Why do we not hear cries of the vast amounts of money being poured into hurling in this county ? The silence is deafening. For me it symbolizes the ethos of the GAA , the club, community and county for all to enjoy.
