It seems to have a good stand but no terraces on the other sides" Owenbeg holds around 5000,celtic park can hold between 15/18000, there wont be big attendance for back door match so owenbeg would be suffice.Derry fans would rather head to owenbeg than celtic park anyway,we played meath in the league game at owenbeg also.

Replying To doirebhoy: "not sure if an outside manager would work Garymc but what i would say is we have had a succession of home managers who have been tactically poor IMO (except for Damian cassidy who got disillusioned with certain members of the panel at the time) we just dont seem to be able to get someone to set up a system of play thats in tune with the modern game - i will use Monaghan as an example - Banty is Monaghan through and through - blue blood running through his veins - but no matter how hard he tried he couldnt take them to the next level - Monaghan co board showed a bit of vision (and it didnt go down well in some quarters) but they didnt care and went ahead and appointed Malachy O`Rourke and lo and behold he ended a 25 year drought with the exact same bunch of players that Banty had -and they won Ulster twice inside 3 years beating the All Ireland champions at the time Donegal and also Tyrone aswell - just saying - its food for thought - Co Board please stop making the handy appt all the time show some B****s - some vision and do the right thing for Derry Gaels - and if it has to be an outside appt then so be it - god knows it couldnt be any worse than what we have suffered this last 15 odd years - we are definitely not as bad as some of our performances in recent times" I agree with you doirebhoy the county board need to show intent,ambition,vision not the easy apptment all the time,i would say they made a hash of appointments since the coleman debacle,as for leaving early i dont think to many loyal fans stayed till it was over,whoever stayed fairplay to them but ive been to many a game and stayed and endured the torture but this for me was different altogether this time.

We stayed up ;just about/,poor enough performances overall highlight beating cavan away, low trimmings by tyrone,galway.Our management need to step up and prove there capable of forming a game plan strategy before the championship starts.Our midfield hasnt functioned, kick outs also need addressed, defensively under pressure indicipline in the tackle i could go on,but with 8 weeks to go i hope they get there act together quickly or were in for another short summer.

Replying To doirebhoy: "really hope so - as we badly need youth coming through" Well done to our minors on getting to the ulster final again we should really try and win an u 21 next year,the senior team i just dont know im puzzled by there defence strategy they all filter back to the 45 and try to turnover the opposition but giving teams unchallenged ball to build attacks wont work against the better teams,we still conceded 2 goals with men marking space getting bodies back but not really defending.
