Louth need to show a lot more composure on front of goal if they are to avoid relegation from FL3, according to their manager Wayne Kierans.

Three defeats from three outings has left them rooted to the bottom of the table and staring relegation to Division 4 in the face.

They could still fight their way out of that position, but that must start with the clash against Derry at Owenbeg on Sunday afternoon.

Kierans is well aware of that fact and stressed to the Derry Journal that they must approach this game differently from the ones they have already played.

“It is going to be a totally different proposition,” said Kierans. “We’re going to have to show a lot of composure when the pressure will really be on. It’s going to test our mentality as well as everything else.

“We have to get two points on the board. I always talk about getting performances but we need a performance against Derry and we need to get two points on the board.

“It’s a difficult position we’re in, there’s no getting away from it and we’ve put ourselves in it, but it’s all about recovering and getting two points. We’ve spoken about must-win games before, well Sunday’s is a must win game now.”
