Paul Crozier has fired a parting shot at Derry GAA chiefs after bringing the curtain down on his three-year reign as the county's ladies football manager.

In a statement issued to the County Derry Post, Crozier called for the ladies team to be given the same treatment as their male counterparts.

"I know there is much work to be done within the county and the ladies will not rest until they get the message across to Derry GAA as a whole that they have to be treated with respect and get the same treatment as the men," he said.

"Some positive steps have been taken by the county board, but I feel much more has to be done. I feel that going forward we need to make sure we get the right coaches involved with all our ladies' teams at every level.

"We need to get as many people as possible involved in fundraising to give these coaches every opportunity financially to be on a par with other county teams."
