Goals in either half from Hugh McFadden and Cian Mulligan were ultimately decisive as Donegal defeated Derry by 2-16 to 0-16 at Celtic Park.

Declan Bonner's men, who saw off Cavan in the preliminary round, will now take on Down in Clones on June 10th for a place in this year's Anglo-Celt decider. The Oak Leaf County will be in tomorrow morning's first-round Qualifier draw.

McFadden's twelfth-minute major assured the visitors of a 1-10 to 0-7 interval advantage and Mulligan netted eight minutes from the end to leave as many points between them, 2-15 to 0-13.

Patrick McBrearty found the target eight times for the winners, and Michael Murphy also impressesd, while Emmet Bradley and Mark Lynch notched 13 points between them for the home team, who put up a determined display but came up short against strong opposition.
