Horgan hails team-mates

Patrick Horgan says his Cork team-mates all contributed handsomely to Saturday night’s victory over Clare.

Horgan arrowed over 16 points – 15 from frees – while the rest of the Rebel County team landed just 1-4 between them – but their unerring All Star attacker insists it was a team effort at Pairc Ui Rinn:

“To be fair, the boys created a lot of them, running at the Clare defence and a lot of the Clare boys were on yellow cards so a lot of the frees were easy enough,” he told Sky Sports. “I am happy to do it but the boys created them, the rest of the forwards.

“It was hard. We know our strengths as a team and that is obviously moving the ball fast, running as much as we can, ball moving fast on the ground and to hand and it just seemed to be a little slower two weeks ago and we know that doesn't suit us and that is what we lacked in the last couple of weeks - we did it a bit better but I think there is still a lot of room for improvement there too.”
