Replying To seanorinn:  ""I'm not so sure Castlerahan will win the next day. I'm going to go with Lacken by a point. It will be interesting to see how both teams set up the next day. Both played extremely negative (Lacken in first, Castlerahan in second) and were out scored when doing so. Castlerahan didn't use their extra speed in the forward line on the counter attack and looked afraid to win it. Lacken are a very powerful team.

Cootehill to beat Gowna by 3+ the next day. Excellent comeback albeit with some questionable frees. Impressed by Gowna I must say, I had them down as relegation material this year. However Cootehill to have the most improvement the next day."

I think you are right in saying Lacken will prevail, they just dont know when they are dead and buried. Seems like they are getting better and fitter the more they go on. Will be an interesting game none the less.

On the other hand I have no idea what game you were looking at as regards the Gowna V Cootehill game. Ref was poor in my opinion for both sides. What an unblievable score from John McCutchon. Still find it hard to believe he isn't on the county panel.

SwadMan11 (Cavan) - Posts:42 - 13/09/2016 12:49:07

Had the Gowna players kept their mouths shut there was no way John was going to score from where the free was originally given. The wind did not help and one would find it hard to say how it will go under normal conditions. Mark McKeever played an exceptional game for Gowna a great leader. Regarding John McCutchon I think he can explain why he is not on the county team so ask him.

Castlerahan can beat Lacken if they play their natural game instead of the puke they dished out in the second half. They allowed Lacken back into this game and were lucky in the end to come out of it with a draw. Why the hell did Mackey decide he was a better half back than a half forward ????. I predict Castlerahan and Gowna to win the replay's and Ramor to win the championship."
Mackey was told last year he Was a better half back than half forward!

Tight game on a tight pitch in Mullahoran this evening and a big crowd to boot. Well done to both sides who gave their all there were some quite spectacular points kicked by Lacken however the old championship mantra that goals win games held fast. I am delighted that the mighty men in maroon are still there it's great to be back in the Semi Final once again and while Castlerahan are a step closer the hardest yards are yet to come. Looking forward to the journey continuing,

No six points easy win?

Dora not quite sure what you mean by "No 6 point easy win" In the context of my post it makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. Which tends to be the stock in trade on this board unfortunately .

Are you trying to suggest that anyone thought that this replay would be easy for either team ?
or that there would be a 6 point margin between the teams both of whom were a credit to their clubs by the way.

Think mullahoran will suit us .Think Coleman and Cooney will be back . Both can score at other end of field. We will win by 6 or more . Lacken got off the hook the last day . Castlerahan v lavey final . I thought Ramor were very poor against Kingscourt. Lavey are playing great football. This is our year .come on the Rahan

Dora are your comprehension skills so lacking or are you trying to attribute the beliefs of another to me. Kinglarry is obviously of lesser years than myself judging by his/her comments over the years. I am around a relatively short time and have seen a lot of Castlerahan and Cavan's victories and plenty of defeats. I have been going to games since Sean Brady's dad Tony was playing for both and remember the sessions in 1987 , 1991 ,2001 not old enough for a jar in 1976 when the parish won the Oliver Plunkett Cup.

I see the effort that these lads put in and know that their opponents try just as hard.

Gowna will be no pushover in the Semi. They have more SFC medalists in their squad than Castlerahan currently enjoy. We hvae the greta carrot of playing a neighbour in the final regardless of who wins the other semi.

Some of your fans get a bit carried away. A great game an advertisement for Cavan football. Best game of champ maybe.

Dora ,
I understand what you are saying now.
The good news is the older we get the more you appreciate the good times having experienced the bad.

Here lads, what is the story with the relegations in Senior & Intermediate? Is there any update yet? It's getting beyond a joke.

Still stick to my guns . Castlerahan v lavey final . Can't see why predictions are childish. Got the all ireland to finish a draw at 10/1 . Pocket money ha. Up the rahan

Clubs find out today that there will be no relagation. Some good games coming up this weekend. Think Gowna have gone as far as they can . Other game will be tight . Think Ramor just. Either way should make for a good final.

There is a junior final too. Do the Hughs have Buchannan?

Getting harder to see past Castlerahan at this stage, suppose that means they have to absorb all the pressure that comes with expectation.

And the mind games from posters with name Ramor. Castlerahan struggled against Gowna already minus McKeever and Pierson. They can't take nothing for granted. And as you say they have to handle pressure which they've struggled with in past.

You're obviously very confident of beating Lavey. Would be very foolish to be looking past this match especially considering your track record in Breffni. Castlerahen would be in a similar boat with Gowna.

Apologies if I wasn't clear enough, when I said hard to see past the Rahan I meant for the Oliver Plunkett itself, only an eegit would make assumptions re Lavey v Ramor

Yeah I figured you were talking about the title for Castlerahen alright. Sounded like you were expecting to meet them in the final and were playing down your chances. I'd have yourselves as favourites for Oliver Plunkett btw, and I'd be expecting Castlerahen to be in the final but it's going to be very close in every game. Whatever about being hard to see past any particular team winning, it would be very hard to discount any team from here on in.
