Roscommon again!
Let's hope it's not a repeat!
Rory and killian are huge loss and the Rossies will be reeling from the Sligo defeat.

Let's hope the game is fixed for the Hyde, we play better away from home.

Roscommon are without key players aswell and loss of diarmuid murtagh to there full forward line is a massive loss hes a serious talent

ah the rossies again ...! I suppose we owe them big time after last years game, won't be too hard to motivate the players here and send that fancy rossie bus home & out of the championship! Cavan were pulled out first so its a home game for us so that is a help but the loss of dunne and clarke is a worry. As soon as the rossies were beaten by sligo I was thinking we would get them (easier side of the draw eh)... they have had two poor enough games against London and sligo on Saturday - hopefully they will have another poor one against us! I think it will be very close so don't rule out extra time to get over the line ...

I don't think this is a good draw for Cavan. The Rossies will have a point to prove after their defeat to Sligo. They have much better forwards than us and I think with the loss of Rory and Killian we will be very weakened.
Was at the match in Breffni yesterday and it only confirmed to me how we let slip a chance of an ulster final place this year.

I think this is a good opportunity for Cavan to show where they are at. I was very disappointed last year with the Cavan's performance against Roscommon in the qualifiers, played negative defensive football. Cavan have changed their style of play since then and they are playing more free flowing attacking football now, I would expect Cavan to come away with this one however nothing will be easy.

We need to fill the full back position now, who will slot in and will Clarke be available?

The loss of Diarmud Murtagh is a hammer blow he top scored in the league for them with 2-28, at the same time Rory Dunne is one of the best full backs around so we are badly weakened for that.

Last years defeat had nothing to do with defensive football it was the loss of over half of our starting 15 which killed us, we look in better shape this time round although the over reliance on McKiernan and McDermott is a worry. Hopefully Mackey can start the next day we need him to start recovering some of his 2013 form.

Rory dunne is a massive loss for us, however I feel that McEnroe could do a good job there. Killian Clarke would have added a lot to the squad aswell and it's a pity he broke down again. I reckon this is a 50/50 game, not much between the teams wasn't all that shocked by Sligo's win as they have some fine players. I think they have under-achieved these last few years. I suppose we could have got Clare , Fermanagh or Kildre. Clare are an improving team with big strong midfield Fermanagh would have been awkward and Kildare beat us in the league so nothing was going to be a cake-walk. I think we can look forward to this one with plenty of hope.

Not one bit happy with the pun on Rory Dunne's name relating to his injury.

Roscommon is the best draw possible. We either face tough teams now or later. The Londons of this world won't improve us. It's high time terry throws the shackles off and allows the team to play with no fear. I believe terry is doing a good job and has made the team more versatile this campaign but more has to be done. I think we are going to win this one by four.

This is the defining game for this Cavan team and management.
It's p**s or get off the pot time now.
There is nothing wrong with the draw and we will have to play better teams than the Rossies if we progress.

My first reaction was "not again..:" but in hindsight, this is actually exactly what we need. We were on a hiding to nothing against London and a draw against Fermanagh or Clare (who are both improving teams, would still have left us with little credit. This will be a really full blooded affair and both teams will be really up for this one. I would think a defeat would spell the end of the line for Terry Hyland but not for John Evans, despite Curran talking out of his you know what again. Maybe Evans isn't going horizontal enough for him!!

I think that this one should draw at least 12,000 - 15,000 and will be a great battle. I think we will win and get our revenge spearheaded by our two performing midfielders!

Ah ha, just what we needed.

We owe these lads a beating, they wiped the floor with us in Breffni last year. That performance was the worst I have ever seen from any Cavan team, ever.

This draw serves two useful purposes. One, it's against a strong emerging side, division 2 champions, with a host of underage talent. There is no point in playing handy teams only to find yourself in the last 12 without being tested.

Second, this game will finally end the debate that has plagued these pages for months now i.e have we made tangible progress?

Desperate pity about Clarke and Dunne, we could make a damn fine team from the "unavailable" players at this moment in time.

Over to you Terry.............................

Reformation, I would say you would be looking more at a figure of 2000 - 5000 people,, Roscommon fan's wont be in a hurry to Breffni after there shock defeat to Sligo, and Cavan dont get the huge following as we once did with the way football is been played,, plus the game is on tv !!

they don't normally show round 2 qualifiers games live on TV... where did you get this info from. (not saying you're wrong BTW)

Revenge, home advantage,Roscommon in poor form (going by the Sligo,London games),missing their top scorer D Murtagh and their other two main scoring forwards D Shine,S Kilbride struggling for fitness. Cavan drew in Kiltoom in Feb probably should have won and its hard see past a Cavan win in this game, to be honest i think Cavan will win by 4-6 points.

Not sure if either of us wanted this draw really ,The rossies were very very poor against Sligo but it could be the kick in the arse they need ,if Cavan keep a high tempo to the game and give them no time on the ball like Sligo did we can come out on top ,but im unsure of the Roscommon team that will show up ,Roscommon were flying until the Sligo game but its defiantly in our hands and we can win this one.it could be a hard fought affair like the Monaghan game .best of luck Cavan
