Cavan management will be delighted with that, holding Tyrone to 6 points

Cavan have no full forward line and the management were clueless in the second half cleaned in midfield in the second half and they dont make a change till the 65th minute its going to be a long year based on that game today

Embarrassing.
Free kick 35 yards out and we end up tippy tappy on our own 50.

Pathetic Cavan performance in the 2nd Half ..no score at all ..clueless absoutely clueless up front.Unfortunately that is typical when there is something at stake against a half decent team. Looked like a division 3/4 team v's Division 1. A lot of cavan players look too Small ..tyrone midfielder scored points after waltzing by 4 or 5 of them.

The u21 level is really a deception ..we do well because we take it so seriously but in reality very few significant players coming thru.

Quaility of passing in the 2nd half when a bit of pressure came on woeful ..inability to even get any shots away.

We are about 15 players away from a decent team in reality.

Not getting one score in the entire 2nd half and this is progress !!!! Not even in our darkest days did we achieve such a stat...? Playing half a game at this level is pointless...

We really got thought a lesson in the 2nd half by Tyrone. Watched it on bbc ni. Really has to be the most biast commentary I have ever heard. Unbelievable stuff. I think the commentator thought it was a school hockey match with Tyrone only playing. Missing keating big time to hold and collect ball up front. We made Tyrone look good. Curry only looks good when he comes on a game Tyrone is winning. Didn't show up against cavan in U-21 games when they needed a big game from him.

Valuable lesson learned tonight.

performance was ok in the first half, but even when very much on top far too much wasted in attack,

so badly needed even one forward who could win their own ball, all far too small and lacking in power. As someone already stated, getting a free kick 35 yards from their goal and taking it short, messing about till we lost it, many attempts of shots from within 5 yards and did not even go the distance, awful stuff.
I'm not a big fan of Keating, but he certainly can win his own ball and although often kicking from silly places, at least he can kick it from distance.

Why was no big men put into the full-forward line in the second half when we were struggling.
The mentors seem to have no clue.
Continuing to do the same thing time after time when it's not working is a sign of madness.

Mc curry is a class act. The tyrone midfielder was brilliant took the game to cavan with conviction. There was a forum on here about looking for afree taker and rightly so. We have no free taker. If it involves carry a player on a pitch. It might have to be done. Four u21 ulster and not a a top class forward has come to the fore yet. Best of luck McHale you have a lot of work to do.

When Tyrone introduced their subs we capitulated. Colmcavanagh, Peter harte, darren McCurry and someone else. Our subs didn't improve the team (or were made too late). wrong decision making when goal or point opportunities arose. inability to kick scoreable frees (or even attempt to score them. We will really struggle without; Givney, keating, mackey. The big man would have made a difference but he has blotted his copybook which is a shame for everyone. I don't recall Cavan every going a half without scoring before although I think we only scored 3 points in a game v Cork a few yaers ago. There also seemed to be no tactical kickouts from the keeper. alll ballooned up the middle. K. clarke did very well first half but needed some support in the second.

Another defeat another moan fest by supposed Cavan fans. Hardly worth the effort to engage with yis.

Rory Dunne at full back was very good, McKeever had a good game, Flanagan seen lots of the ball, Martin Dunne scored a couple of nice points in the first half, never looked like scoring the second half, Clarke was very good at midfield in the first half, but was overrun in the second

Tyrone's subs made them stronger, in fact bigger, stronger and faster, Cavan's subs made them weaker, actually smaller and weaker

the old adage still holds, a big good one will always beat a good small one. Cavan need to add size and strength in several areas.

Terrible stuff - men against boys -any bit of individualism or confidence has been coached out of them - This backwards play really is a joke constantly putting team mates under pressure instead of putting the opposition on the back foot with a forward kick even if doesnt work out every time. What has McHale or Downes added or have they become institutionalised already ?

That 2nd half was a disgrace, this cavan team has no bottle to close out games. To go 37 minutes without scoring is a sad reflection of how bad this team are. Far too complacent, and the second half was akin to the majority of the second half played against Fermanagh. This team will not win games if they keep passing up opportunities of scoring. Martin Dunne should have had two easy scores in either half but bottled it and put the ball wide twice at crucial times. This team doesn't have the mentality to play attacking football and the second half was proof of this as we were totally clueless up front. Cleaned out in midfield as well, and this needs to be addressed too. Free-taking is a big issue and no player seems to want to take responsibility for frees, and hence end up going short and getting dispossessed and ends up in a score for the opposition. Players need to take leadership and responsibility and make those opportunities count on the scoreboard. Management are too slow to make changes and to date I haven't seen what Liam McHale has added up front. We need a big improvement from everyone involved in the league and play both halves with the same intensity, taking scoring opportunities, while remaining discipline at the back otherwise it will another disastrous year unfortunately.

The second half performance was a joke. The sooner a new manager is brought in that will inject much needed belief into the team the better.

To be fair to martin dunne though that second half effort was because paul smith refused to shoot when right in front of goal and passed it out wide to dunne who
Was in a worse position. There was another instance in the first half when they tried an extra pass and lost another goal chance. A point on each occasion even would have been better.

This Final was almost a mirror image of last years game with Cavan doing very well in the 1st half and then buckling in the 2nd when Tyrone got interested and put on the pressure...the only difference we lost last year by 7 and this year by 6pts... Despite this set back I would not rule us out of turning over Roscommon next week... So lads get on them at what should be pretty decent odds...?
