What is Willie Stroker another smart ass GAA supporter with nothing to say or to offer .

Lord above who or what in God's name are you on about now man?

Why would Mr Hyland ask the team if Seannie was playing back with the gales and got back to his former self could he bring him back to the fold what a load of b****cks Mr Hyland would make this decision himself and its as it should be. ( We had enough player power over the years)

His name is Terry. Why won't you address him by his first name?

I am neither a fan of Cavan Gales or Seannie but when a player is playing as a team player and is willing to commit who the hell are you or I to question if he should or should not play again for Cavan.

Oh we just happened to be the paying public, you know, the people who voluntarily FUND THE GAA through government grants, and through following our county team around the country, paying admission fees and that, but forget about us, who are we only the little people in your eyes eh?

Usual spouting from Seansowrong as I think he should be known. Blaming McGeeney for Johnston taking that free. Did McGeeney go looking for the ball? No Johnston did. He should stick with Kildare.

If he's not good enough for them, why would he be good enough for us?

Mr.Rinn, sean volunteered to take that kick. He wasn't told to. Infact it was from his weaker side and it was he who rubbed salt in cavans wounds not mcgeeney. Looks like he wanted to prove a point. Also I assume he wanted to take it to prove his alligence to kildare. If the cavan management took him back I'd lose all respect for them. And I also think you'll find he has all the documents in the world to prove that he lives in Kildare, not Cavan.

Ah no. Just when I was going to head to Kildare for tea. He should be allowed to be considered like any other player but my own opinion is, he is not good enough for Cavan anymore.

Mr Hyland to me and its the way it will stay I have no problems calling him as such end off story. You call him what ever you like.

I guarantee you all should Mr Hyland bring him Seannie back and he starts scoring as you all know he can I bet you all that you will forget what happened yesterday and the Celt and this forum will be singing his praises.

I have to pay like you and everyone else when I go to matches away from the park so I too am one of the playing public.

I would rather get hit by a bus than betray my county. Some things cannot be forgotten.

If we did bring him back, what sort of a message would that send to the young u21 lads hoping to play senior football for their county? Keep the faith in the youth and don't delve back into the past.

Are Mackey Dunne Flannagan McKeever McCutcheon u21 youth with experience plain and simple. Not all about youth for if you think we will go place with u21 you are in dream land.

Lads I think we should give this all a break and concentrate on the club championship and all the players who could be future stars or who are just very good club footballers-the unsung heroes.
Really why are we talking about a Kildare player when we have so many stars of our own. And who knows he might not even come back.
If he does and plays well with the Gaels then he is worthy of discussion. And only then will I say he is worthy of consideration by Terry for a recall to the squad.Hopefully "time will be a good healer"

Time moves on, and new young players appear and become stars. Just look at Martin Dunne , Dara McVitty and Michael Argue. I mentioned after the U21 semi-final earlier this year that young Argue could be an option for the Senior team and I was laughed at by certain experts. Where are these boys now?
It is a long time since we have had such a bright future and so many players to select from. I think Terry could have a few headaches trying to select his 30 man squad for the League next year.
I really believe this years U21 team were the most talented group I have ever seen and there will be loads of these lads coming through over the next few years. No doubt there will be older players putting down a marker as well and that is the way it should be.
So lets give the Seanie charade a rest!!!!

How about we park this, and revisit it in September after the Gaels have won the championship and if his contribution is deemed to have been significant, then discuss it further. Until such time, its futile speculation.

Don't like the thread? You know what to do. We had Ochonlir before you trying to stifle any sort of debate surrounding the county setup. It's a forum for discussion and gives paying supporters a voice. Everyone's opinion counts whether it's to your liking or not.

What is Willie Stroker another smart ass GAA supporter with nothing to say or to offer .

First off I have only heard that S.Johnston is coming back to the gaels and rightly so. He is a Cavan lad he teaches in Cavan and should be playing his football in Cavan. I must add two things here I could write a book on players in Cavan and that would include players going back to 97 and even back to the 80ts. Seannie got bad advise of that there is no doubt. If he were to get back to full fitness level not many in Cavan could fill his position both for skill cuteness and his ability to score. Be honest here name one person who could do it better than him???
When you look at the present set up and the way they are playing it would be very difficult for him to blend in for as I have always said and I will continue to say a forward 99% of the time is only as good as the supply but one thing Seannie has is loads of strength and is well able to look after himself.
Why would Mr Hyland ask the team if Seannie was playing back with the gales and got back to his former self could he bring him back to the fold what a load of b****cks Mr Hyland would make this decision himself and its as it should be. ( We had enough player power over the years)
I am neither a fan of Cavan Gales or Seannie but when a player is playing as a team player and is willing to commit who the hell are you or I to question if he should or should not play again for Cavan.
Its a know fact how I feel about McGeeney and what he did to rub salt into all Cavan peoples wounds bringing him on to score a point when they had Cavan dead and buried but in fairness to Seannie he scored and its as it should be football is his passion.
Getting back to Willie Stroker before I sign off. This individual has nothing to offer the true GAA supporter it's ethos nothing at all and to show his stupidity towards London with his reply is showing his ignorance about the GAA. London is made up of exiles all individuals who had to leave these shores for employment and good luck to them all and anything they achieved this year or any other year should not be bedgrudged to them and I wish them well in the future.
Should Seannie in full fitness and willing to commit to the Cavan jersey be welcomed back to the fold off course he should and why not.
Before you start shouting at me that I am a runner in and should not have an opinion well I have and I say as I feel it, In the right frame of mind attitude and fitness any club in Cavan including the County set up would welcome him back.
TAKE THE BLINKERS OFF AND REMEMBER GAA IS AN AMATEUR GAME NOT PROFESSIONAL GAME.
In my book he would be welcome back if he were to give his all for the jersey. (He owes you people nothing)

Con: What do you want to debate? The merits of Cavan football? Who will win the Senior, Inter and Junior championships? Should Cavan have won the Ulster title? Should Cavan have beaten Kerry? OR (the merits or de-merits of a current KILDARE footballer?)

To be honest with you nobody up in Cavan gives a hoot what goes on in the land of the Lily except maybe you!!

"Brownred" you were 100% right.

Well Mr O Rinn. Are you now the champion of Mr Johnston just so you can get another dig at Mr Hyland. To answer your question on no one being better than Johnston when at his best. Well I reckon Johnston has plenty of ability but the truth is that ability is probably on 20% of what makes a county player. Dedication, fight, guts, team work, work rate and pride in jersey make up the rest. There are 30 lads on the panel right now ahead of Johnston on these.

Don't know how to fully respond to that rant as it has nothing to do with my point but it is definitely an issue worth debating, particularly if people like you feel the need to sweep it under the carpet. There are plenty of other threads where you can exchange bland platitudes.

S.Goldrick of course I knew it was what it was, but it was portraying what people were thinking both here and in Kildare.

The fact that it was written was enough.

Time this man was left alone and if Mr Hyland decides that he warrants a recall so be it.

I made it very clear where I stand regarding S. Johnston BUT as one of our better player for a very long time should Mr Hyland wish to bring him back so be it???
