Replying To seanorinn:  "Hi seanorinn, hope you are keeping well, the steward under the press box in Breffni introduced me to you last year at Donegal Dublin U-21 semi final. Found you pleasant and very knowledgeable on the game and gaa in general. I see you are under attack from a few posters but certainly holding your own. Good man. Roll on Ballybofey in 3 weeks time, we are not firing on all cylinders at all and I expect a very close game.

the last time i was on this was a couple of weeks ago and i gave it a break because of the bickering. Many of you lads and ladies here have probably trained underage teams at some point and i'm sure if the same level of stupid needling was going on you'd have knocked it on the head there and then.
@Sean O Rinn- stop giving your wit and stop answering back to some of the comments, you're currently holding a position in Breffni.
if there are topics to discuss regarding the championship then great lets get back to it.

Hello AudiMan thank you for your nice words and it was a pleasure talking to you. Many from around the country look for me when they pay a visit to see their county play Cavan.
To the weanling get your facts right before you make a fool of your mouth. I retired after the 3rd of September due to ill health and the amount I was required to do was too much for me so I think over 39 years looking after things and 21 years on my own I learnt a thing or two.
I no longer have to work 365 days a year including every weekend. I help out Martin Cahill by keeping the pitch in as good a shape as I can other than that I am retired. I have been unfit to attend a match since I had a major operation on the 5th of September and near bled to death the last week of September thank god for the Mater hospital.
I hope maybe to be able to watch a few matches around the clubs if I am well enough over the next few months.
You will be commenting on Sean O'Rinn the supporter and not the employee from now on."
Let's get back to the football lads. I hear Cavan play Longford this weekend in Granard. Should be a good run out. McVeety back in training too which is a massive plus.

Amen:
I take nothing from challenge games unless they are playing in the O'Reilly cup that would be different. Nice to hear McVeety is back training.

McVeety back training?

No chance. He has been struggling with that hamstring for some time.

Put it this way, if he is back training already then there is ZERO chance of him playing much part this summer as there is no way he should be. We are as primitive as it gets when it comes to looking after lads with injuries.

Today's game will not do a lot to build confidence for Donegal game, disappointment for the few fans that travelled.

Today's game was irrelevant to championship. McGleenan used over 30 players

Shipping 3 goals wasn't irrelevant. they obviously haven't tightened up in Defence.

You'd have to wonder on the wisdom of playing a challenge match 2 weeks out and then using 30players as a casual run out. Can't have been any benefit

Just over a week to go, really looking forward to this one.

I am concerned about the number 11 position, as it was a glaring weakness for us during the league.

Will McVeety be available? If so, I think we have a decent chance.

Gearoid was clearly out of form during the league, I hope he's managed to find a bit of form lately we need a big performance from him around the middle of the field, doing what he does best, latching onto a pass off the shoulder and having a go from distance, he is one of our main scoring threats.

I also hope our defence has tightened up considerably, Donegal racked up a big score against Dublin in the league, and we know the fire power they have in McBrearty and Murphy. However they only have themselves to blame for their relegation as they threw the Mayo game away, how much will that have affected their confidence as a team?

To win this we will have to improve considerably from the league, as the level of performances against Tipp and Roscommon won't be near enough to win this one.

We are in with a good chance. From what I hear Johnston and Mackey will start. So we going for it from the off.

I agree with starting Mackey for sure, I think Johnston may be a better option from the bench with 20 minutes to go. I thought Conor Bradley had a good league final, might be worthy of a starting place?

Calling here now...you heard it here first....I'm going for a Cavan win next Sunday.

I just hope Skelling in the good old US of A gets to see the match and doesn't have to rely on the Hogan Stand to offer up his comments.

I'd be looking at Ballybofey more in hope than expectation. Probably a year too early for some of them. A surprise is not out of the question but a lot of things will have to go very right. You'd hope we'll be well able to match them for 50 mins. After that though I think our bench is very light on experience and game changers. Injuries particularly to McVeety have been very detrimental and probably have derailed us somewhat. I was a lot more confident 2 months ago.

Injury to McVitty is a setback as he has been playing very well.
But there a panel of 30 players all itching to start and show what they can do.
Donegal are no great shakes of late .
Push up on them and don't allow them to build from the back is the key to beating them.
We are well fit for them so let's got and give it a mighty shot.
What a boost it would be for this young team to pull it off especially in Ballybofey.
If everyone plays to their full potential and our more experienced lads make a telling contribution there no reason why we won't win.
