There was profound regret in Cavan when news spread of the passing in Sligo on Tuesday September 2, 2008 of Cootehill native Aidan Harte of Carrigallen, County Leitrim. Aidan was formerly on the teaching staff at Loreto College, Cavan. Teaching English and History at the school for over 35 years, he was popular with fellow teachers and students alike and he managed to marry a love of gaelic games with his keen acumen for drama and debating.
