Originally from Enagh West, Virginia, John (Johnnie) Cullen moved to Dublin during the 1940s. One of the first dates he went on with his wife Patty was to attend the 1947 All-Ireland semi-final between Cavan and Roscommon and he continued to visit GAA Headquarters on a regular basis into the 1990s. He attended more than 50 football finals there.
